I have XP Pro, but the versions of Word and Ppt say 2002...not sure if that is relevant, but maybe my older versions of these programs are no longer compatible with Acrobat? thanks I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 3609Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Also, reinstalling FireFox did not solve the problem since the "tmp" variable was not affected by the reinstall. Chosen solution Doing "Microsoft Print to PDF" (or "Microsoft XPS Document Writer") gets error message "An error occurred while printing" and file does not get created. This error can occur if the Windows "user" environment variable "TMP" has been changed from the default value. The changed value somehow seems to cause "access denied", but this specific reason for the error is not presented to you. A trace of the error occurring revealed this reason. This error does not occur using one of the other browsers IE, Edge, or Chrome. Changing the TMP variable back to the default (%userprofile%\appdata\local\temp) eliminates the error. If that's the case, you need to export to PDF rather than print to it. I've also had the issue of a map not printing/plotting. Everytime it turned out the mxd had become corrupt in some way. MXD Doctor did the trick. I even did a Support case on this and this was the solution that we came up with.Like • Show 0 Likes0 Actions Related ContentRetrieving data ...Recommended ContentMultiple Map Layouts in Desktop Layout Viewhow to open a*.mdb file in ArcGIS 10?Community Weekly Discussion: Intersections, applications and trends with data and GISmy arc map main menu tool bar is missingWhy the extra classes when I reclassify a raster?
