Topic Older Topic HELP: can't configure airport express Posted by: goodmanx Date: an error occurred while updating the entries. see the inner exception for details. in mvc December 06, 2009 07:14PM i'm trying to configure an airport express ("n", i think) through my airport extreme. after an error occurred while updating akismet could not create directory airport utility finds the express (connected with ethernet), i attempt to configure it manually and eventually get an error message that says, "an error occurred while reading the configuration. "make sure https://support.apple.com/kb/ts4597 your apple wireless device is plugged and is in range of your computer or connected via ethernet and try again (-6753)." we have a macbook 2.4 running ox 10.5.8 through an external firewire drive and our primary network is through an airport extreme. the airport extreme has firmware v.7.4.2 and the express has firmware v.6.1.1; i downloaded the v. 6.3 update, but http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,846196,846203 when i tried to apply it to the ap express it found the device, went through the update process, but did not successfully perform the update ("An error occurred while attempting to communicate with the AirPort Express. (-8)" ). i'll appreciate any assistance. It's OK for now, because the ABS itself is working beautifully, all the time. The inability to configure things will become an issue if there's some kind of essential software update or compatibility issue, but for now I guess I'll cross my fingers...
