This might explain that when you rename it and it works for a while, but then it becomes corrupted again. Check your addins to see if something is causing Outlook not to close properly. 23, 2005. Guest Guest I have a few users that cannot display Outlook forms. They get the following Outlook error: "An error occurred registering the form in the OLE registry." Once they http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/an-error-occurred-registering-the-form-in-the-ole-registry.1804505/ try to access the forms and get this error, Outlook will always hang on the application shutdown. The Custom Form is published in Public Folder; These machines are all running on Windows Xp Professional https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/78669-error-setting-up-an-appointment-in-outlook-2003 SP1 with MS Office XP. When these users are set as Power User, they cannot display any form. When they are set as Administrator, they can display forms. I have deleted the frmcache.dat file, error occurred but i can't delete the Usrclass.dat. The error is "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and the problem it persists http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320835 any idea??? Thank's Guest, Feb 23, 2005 #1 Advertisements Guest Guest I'm not sure which app could have a lock on usrclass.dat, so shut down everything and try deleting it again. Also try deleting after a fresh boot, or registering the form in Safe Mode. -- Eric Legault - B.A, MCP, MCSD, Outlook MVP -------------------------------------------------- {Private e-mails ignored} Job: http://www.imaginets.com Blog: http://blogs.officezealot.com/legault/ "Phenix" wrote: > I have a few users that cannot display Outlook forms. I have checked Microsoft's support site and the closest thing I could find was: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320835 and I have tried going through the steps suggested, but the user still gets the same message. Are you up-to-date with Service Packs on this client? If you are running Exchange Server, can they do it logged on from another computer or Outlook Web Access? Have you tried running a repair on Outlook 2003? When you tried the Knowledge Base article, did you confirm that the user is a member of the local admins group on this PC? 0 Serrano OP Dave S. Sanchez Oct 5, 2009 at 1:01 UTC Nope, no oracle here. 0 Thai Pepper OP Rusty4508 Oct 5, 2009 at 1:03 UTC Have you tried a reinstall? (through Add/Remove Programs) 0 Serrano OP Dave S. Sanchez Oct 5, 2009 at 1:08 UTC @Jason W We are up to date with the service packs on the client. We are running Exchange Server, but we have not had the chance to have her log into another PC to test (given that we have no spare PCs kicking around right now and the user is currently in the middle of trying to do an RFP. When they go on lunch, I am taking another look at it). Haven't tried the Web Access yet either (due to the user's need to get their documentation done), but will try that as soon as I can. I didn't think to check to see if the user was local admin at the time as a couple of months ago they had the same issue and we used the same process at that time to fix Outlook. 0 Thai Pepper OP Rusty4508 Oct 5, 2009 at 1:11 UTC We get that exact error every so often with our users when they use Add-ons etc. A reinstall followed by reboot will certainly fix it. Also, it may be Google Toolbar as the cause. 0 Datil OP Helpful Post Kimberlin Oct 5, 2009 at 1:11 UTC here is a post on EE about it: Rebooted machine and entered safe mode Navigated to C:\DOCS & SETTS\USERNAME\LOCAL SE
