I get the following error msg when renaming a computer on my domain: >The following error occured attempting to rename the >computer to: "myname" >The network path was not found I can ping the domain suffix mydomain.com I can ping the domain controller mycontroller.mydomain.com What is wromg here? /Chris Chris, Oct 29, 2003 #1 Advertisements Master_Fore Guest Try taking the computer out of the domain, and putting it in WORKGROUP. Next reboot the machine. When it comes up, rename the machine to the new naming convention. Reboot. Lastly, rejoin your domain with your domain credentials. This should solve your problem. Its is long and drawn out but it is the only way to be sure.
