I made the installation disk using nLite about a year ago from my licensed Windows XP installation disk. I checked and the file is in the i386\system32 folder on the installation disk. I have previously used the same disk to install Windows XP on my system about 5 times, with no problems. (Don't ask) I have NOT made any hardware changes. I have wiped the harddrive before the attemped install. I even tried rebuilding the installation using nLite, but have the same problem. I have also tried the install uning the original Microsoft disk. I hope someone can help me. All I can find when searching Google, are apps to scan and repair for $$. I ve been trying to create a Windows Seven bootable USB drive using the Bootcamp Assistant. I tried to create it using an ISO of my Windows DVD in order to install it on my new Mac Mini. My problem is that I get an error: Your bootable USB drive could not be created, an error occurred while copying the windows installation files. My USB drive is 8G, and I‘ve tried with a 100G external HDD too... So it‘s not a size problem. I also tried to format the drive different ways without any success... I found lots of threads relating to this problem but none of them had a solution. Any clues? Thanks in advance! Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3) Posted on Feb 26, 2012 2:29 AM I have this question too by Kempfu,Solvedanswer Kempfu Level 1 (0 points) A: Yes, the trick is to find the right USB drive! I bought and tried several... Cost me a bit of time and money, but finally a 4G usb drive did the trick (Sony Micro Vault Tiny 4 GB). Once you find your USB drive the error will simply disappear. I don't know exactly why some usb drives work and some don't.... Seems bizarre.
