But the problem is still there. How to modify the "classpath" setting in the "run configuration". Thanks. Or how to make it point to the JRE system included by the eclipse as you said. –user288609 Jul 1 '13 at 6:15 First remove the bin folder from BuildPath. In classpath under Run Configuration, select on the Bootstrap Entries and at Right button click Restore Default Entries. This should put the default JRE System library by replacing the bin folder –ajduke Jul 1 '13 at 6:42 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote It seems to me that you're using System JRE instead of JDK. Jboss Error Occurred During Initialization Of Vm
only takes a minute: Sign up Eclipse: Error occurred during initialization of VM up vote 2 down vote favorite A few days I started getting this eror message when debugging my eclipse RCP: Error occurred during initialization of VM http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17398038/eclipse-error-of-error-occurred-during-initialization-of-vm Could not reserve enough space for object heap Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit. I used to restart my stystem if that occured which fixed it but today even a restart didn't work anymore. Can anyone please give me a hint why this is suddenly appearing. Those are the VM arguments I'm using: -Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5 -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -Dosgi.locking=none -XX:MaxPermSize=256m java eclipse share|improve this question asked Nov 16 '15 at 7:23 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33730241/eclipse-error-occurred-during-initialization-of-vm Markus 523723 1 2048m can be difficult for a 32 bit Java to allocate. If possible switch to a 64 bit Java (or use less memory). –greg-449 Nov 16 '15 at 7:52 Thannk you greg. From your hint I got the idea to reduce the amount of memory being allocated and it starts now again (-Xmx1024m -Xms512m). –Markus Nov 16 '15 at 7:58 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote Try to fix it with: Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced(tab)->Environment Variables->System Variables->New: Variable name: _JAVA_OPTIONS Variable value: -Xmx512M share|improve this answer answered Nov 16 '15 at 7:32 Visky G 612 I've been trying your advice but as far as I can see this basically just starts my application with reserving 512MB of heap space. This is less then I aleady specified in my run configuration. This didn't change the outcome –Markus Nov 16 '15 at 7:53 Check if any updates happened yesterday/Today which is not compatible with your system(32/64bit).because once I had updated java version and my eclipse stopped working thenI reverted/uninstalled latest java version to older one –Visky G Nov 16 '15 at 11:03 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote You are opening Eclipse by specifying 2GB of max memory and 1GB of min memory. And the message is telling you that there is not enough memory available to support that. share|im

Tony Docherty Bartender Posts: 3012 59 posted 3 years ago It sounds like you have/had different versions of Java installed and the Path variable has references to more than one installation. Can you show us what the Path environment variable is set to and also give the installation directory of your latest Java install. ganapathi sundaram Greenhorn Posts: 14 posted 3 years ago Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply.
