The solution is to close the Printer properties dialog, then in the “Device and Printers” window, highlight the printer you want to change, and click on “Print Server Properties” in the menu bar. Then in the next screen, click the ports tab, and “Change Port Settings” Note: If you're using Windows 10, you may want to look at "How to Change Port Settings configure port operation not supported windows 10 for Printers in Windows 10" Now you’ll have the configure port button that works. Just select your port and click “Configure Port” and you’ll have access to everything you expected. Hope that helps you out. I don’t know why they made the change, but we’ll just have to improvise, adapt, and overcome. I also have a Samsung SCX-4100 printer, which worked fine on two different previous computers, one running Vista and the other running Windows 7 (x32). When I updated to the 64-bit computer, and loaded the Samsung x64 driver, the printer appears installed, but will not print at all. It is listed on all my programs and, when told to print, the printer icon appears in the lower task bar, but no documents show up in the queue, and the printer does not print anything. The only printing it did was, upon installation, it printed out the test page correctly. I have used various Windows troubleshooters, I have removed and reinstalled the printer several times, and nothing has changed. I tried to re-configure the USB port to which the printer is connected, but I received this statement each time: "an error occurred during port configuration" and thus I cannot attempt to re-configure the port. I even tried to install a totally different printer, this one from Canon. Still, even after following everything listed, I still cannot print from either printer using Windows 7 x64. And again, when I try to configure the USB Port, either with the Samsung printer or the Canon one, I continue to get the message "An error occurred during print configuration. This operation is not supported." When I go into administrative services, and to the Print Management section, I am successful in printing out a test page, to both of the Printers that I have hooked up to the computer - the Samsung and the
