Re: Re: Load XML file Into Oracle External Table Marco Gralike Jun 12, 2015 1:15 PM (in response to Reva812) The method odie_63 is referring to is that you could register the XML Schema and thus automatically creating a XMLType table based on Object Relational or Binary XML storage that is "hierarchically" enabled. That is, when one would, for example via FTP, upload the XML file, it would be recognized as associated with an XML registered XML Schema, that has a reference to a XMLType table or column which then the Oracle database automatically uses to "shred" the FTP fed XML content into. The following is based on a XMLType Binary XML example, but I would go for a XMLType Object Relational approach...http://www.liberidu.com/blog/2009/06/17/howto-shred-binary-xml-documents-directly-into-a-default-database-table/That said, I have no clue IF you will be able to manage/shred such a big XML file into the XML DB environment and not hitting some issue with buffers LIMITS or resource limits. The HOWTO load really big file approach, based on the latest XML Parser code from OTN, gives you more control and methods like CLIENT SIDE BINARY XML ENCODING optimizations which give you a more repeatable approach...http://www.liberidu.com/blog/2008/07/11/howto-load-really-big-xml-files/ 1 person found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 18.
