Quote Postby darynv » 2012/06/18 12:37:10 Attempting to install CentOS 5.7 64 bit on a new HP Proliant DL185G5 with 12 x 2TB disks. I am installing from DVDs (set of 2).I'm accepting the default installation options, it all proceeds normally. When it comes error occurred time to format and install, I get the error "An error occurred trying to format VolGroup00/LogVol00. This problem is serious, and the installation cannot continue. Press to reboot your system."I figured the problem must be the way the disks were raided, which was with two small Volumes and one large one. I've tried a stack of different RAIDing options error occurred trying (making it all one big RAID5/6 volume, making 12 separate RAID 0 volumes) but in any case the result is always the same. I did find a thread about a similar error message to this on another forum, and the advice was to check that the RAID settings in BIOS, but that's all good.Is there some option I should take to make CentOS 5.7 install on this machine? Is 5.7 incompatible with 2TB disks?Any advice would be appreciated.
