Posted 13 October 2006 - 06:10 PM UPnP is a scheme to (in this case) allow an application to configure your router automatically. Most of the time, for most systems and most routers, it does not work. I don't recommend that anyone use it. UPnP is the left-hand side. The right-hand side is to manually configure your router, which is much more reliable. To do this, first disable UPnP in your BitComet preferences, then visit Portforward.com, and see the instructions for your particular router and for BitComet. Do not skip or overlook the part about setting up a static IP address, as many people do and then wonder why it's not working. It doesnt get those gay connection errors or anything, I'm even using a new netgear router which doesnt let you do jack, but I can still use this program a full power, so I'd recommend you give it a try, its worth it nofrobro, Jul 14, 2006 #2 flipboi15 Member Joined: Jul 7, 2005 Messages: 37 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 16 the thing is im very comfortable with bitcomet. and this never happened with my old router so im guessing it has sumthing to do with the router im using now. flipboi15, Jul 15, 2006 #3 mark5hs Guest It might be the router. First I tried bittorrent (its a pain to get working with any router) then I tried azureus and I only got speeds around 3 kbps and then I got bitcomet and it works fi
from the SourceForge page. UPnP PortMapper requires Java SE Runtime Environment 6.0. You can get Java from Oracle. To run PortMapper, http://upnp-portmapper.sourceforge.net/ double click on the JAR file or run java -jar PortMapper.jar on the command line. PortMapper also has a command line interface. You can see the available options by adding parameter -h: $ java -jar PortMapper-1.9.6.jar -h usage: java -jar PortMapper.jar [-a
