Turns out I had /etc/odbcinst.ini set up with UnicodeTranslationOption=utf8 for the [NetezzaSQL] driver. Also a wrong (32-bit) driver was used. I-server runs on AIX 5.3. Support said I needed to upgrade Netezza ODBC driver to version 6 (to match warehouse version) so did that and am still getting this error. Connecting to my Oracle warehouse via DBQuery Tool works fine. Thanks
