Raid 0 Error Occurred (0)
AM Hello,I have an Intel RAID1 setup in a Gateway FX530 computer.I have been experiencing Blue Screens recently and was led to intel matrix storage manager error occurred 0 raid 1 the conclusion that the problem could be with one of the drives. I restarted the system and entered the RAID configuration menu. One of the drives was indicated as having a SMART Event(0).After some searching online, raid 0 error occurred fix I thought it would probably be best to replace the drive which was indicated as having the SMART event. After replacing the drive and restarting the system, I initiated the rebuild process from the RAID setup menu.Long story short... there have been several additional Blue Screen shutdowns. (None with the iastor message.)Looking at the RAID configuration menu, the drive which was part of the original RAID1 setup is indicated as "Error Occurred(0)" in the setup

menu, with the RAID status as "Degraded".I'm interested in knowing if this is common. Do I now need to replace the second original drive? (The new drive was a Seagate that was similar to the one removed. It was the same type of drive (SATA), and the size was the same (931.5GB); but it was a different height (thinner). I asked at BestBuy when I purchased it and was told that as long as it is SATA and the same size I should be good.Any thoughts?ThanksJeff 13642Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Re: Raid1 "Error Occurred(0)" on Good Drive After Replacing SMART Event Drive Jeff11 Jun 10, 2013 5:33 PM (in response to Jeff11) Hi,Any thoughts on why the Intel RAID setup utility would show a drive good previously (when a SMART message was displayed for the 2nd drive in the RAID1 array), and then show the same drvie as "Error Occurred(0)" after the drive a new drive was installed in place of the drive with the SMART message?ThanksJeff Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. problem listed on another post, so describing it here... I have a Dell XPS 410 running Raid 1, under Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM v6.0.0.1022 ICH8R (appears I am a https://communities.intel.com/thread/42228 few versions out-of-date). When I boot I get the following message: Raid volumes: ID:0 Name Volume0 Level: Raid1(Mirror) Strip: N/A Size: 465.8GB Status: Failed Bootable: No Physical Disks: Port Drive Model Serial # Size Type/Status (Vol ID) 0 ST3500630AS 465.8GB Offline Member 1 WDC WD5000AAKS-7 465.8Gb Error Occurred (0) No boot device available... I've run diagnostics on the disks and they "appear" fine (meaning http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/256465-32-interpreting-raid-error-intel-matrix-storage no errors reported) and I don't get any of the "clicking" sounds which usually mean really bad news. My extended service plan means that Dell is sending me replacement drives for both, but I'm unclear on which I should replace first to maximize my chance of saving the data and having the RAID rebuild. Any guidance? I've searched high-and-low online but come up empty... I am leaning towards replacing the first drive (ST....) since I interpret the error status message on the drive in Port 1 to refer to the drive in Port 0... Any guidance or experience from those of you with so much more experience than me is much appreciated! So all you want is recover the data on the RAID right? So do that and setup the RAID again. You may want to use Ubuntu to recover your RAID. m 0 l aamann 9 March 2010 21:16:27 You're right - that's all I want t
