I am having trouble establishing a database connection to an informix database which runs our Avaya Call Management System. I get the following error: Error connecting to database [cms5] : be.ibridge.kettle.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException: Error occured while trying to connect to the database Exception while loading class sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver be.ibridge.kettle.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException: Error occured while trying to connect to the database Exception while loading class sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver at be.ibridge.kettle.core.database.Database.normalConnect(Database.java:289) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.database.Database.connect(Database.java:237) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.database.Database.connect(Database.java:199) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.database.Database.connect(Database.java:189) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.dialog.DatabaseDialog.test(DatabaseDialog.java:1754) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.dialog.DatabaseDialog.test(DatabaseDialog.java:1699) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.dialog.DatabaseDialog$4.handleEvent(DatabaseDialog.java:298) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.EventTable.sendEvent(EventTable.java:66) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Widget.java:1527) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Widget.java:1551) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Widget.java:1536) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.notifyListeners(Widget.java:1310) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runDeferredEvents(Display.java:3369) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Display.java:2994) at be.ibridge.kettle.core.dialog.DatabaseDialog.open(DatabaseDialog.java:373) at be.ibridge.kettle.spoon.Spoon.editConnection(Spoon.java:2712) at be.i

I am using http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28645898/error-connecting-to-database-using-class-org-gjt-mm-mysql-driver a Mac running OS 10.10.2. I can connect to the DB using Sequel Pro and have read through all the answers already given on this site (and others!) and have downloaded and copied mysql-connector-java-5.1.34-bin.jar to data-integration/lib and still get the same error. Any suggestions would be welcome. The Pentaho DI Community Edition https://communities.bmc.com/thread/134431?start=0&tstart=0 comes with a collection of database drivers that can access many different database systems as either a data source (input) or a target (output). However, the community edition may not ship with drivers for Oracle database. The following notes assume Pentaho DI (Kettle) has been installed according to these Pentaho DI Installation Notes. Installing Oracle JDBC Drivers To use Oracle data sources with Pentaho error occurred DI, you must first make sure the Oracle JDBC drivers are installed. If not, obtain them from Oracle and install them in the lib folder for Pentaho DI. The Oracle JDBC drivers are shipped with every Oracle Server installation and can be found in the \jdbc folder of the Oracle home. If you do not have access to the Oracle server, you may download the latest drivers from Oracle's JDBC web site. Be sure to download the JDBC drivers that error occurred while match the version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) you are running. Copy the Oracle JDBC Drivers to Pentaho\data-integration\lib folder. When running Pentaho DI with Java7, use the Java 7 versions of the JDBC drivers as shown in the figure below: Running Pentaho DI and Creating a Table Output transformation Run Spoon and create a new transformation for a Table Output Get the Properties of the table output as shown below: For the Connection, click on the New… button to create a new connection. Give your new database connection a name and then select Oracle as the Connection Type. Choose JDBC (Native) as the Access type. Fill in the Host Name or IP address of the server currently running Oracle. If you are running Oracle on your own local computer, use the localhost IP address 127.0.0.1. Set the port number to where the Oracle database listener is running. By default this is port 1521. Fill in the Database Name according to either your Oracle Service Name or SID. If your Oracle 12c database is configured with pluggable databases, use a forward slash followed by the name of the pluggable database (pdb1 in the example below). Supply the Oracle account username and password for the connection. If the Tablespace for Data and Tablespace for Index fields are left blank, the default tablespaces for the schema will be used. If you wish to change these, type in the names
