Lync 2013 Presentation Not Working
AM Reply | Quote Answers 26 Sign in to vote I don't know if I have the full story but I think there is something missing from the KB2760556 patch. It assumes that the previous update is there already, but if you try to install both at the same time things go wrong. I removed all three of the 2013 lync patches. programs and features -> view installed updates. remove all lync patches under the office 2013 section. reboot. screen sharing should be back. apply the lync patches one at a time. KB2760512 first, and then KB2760556 screen sharing is still working for us after that. I opened a case but it it has not been picked up yet. Microsoft Lync 2013 Screen Sharing Issue By Adam LeeMarch 13, 2014Best Practices, Blog, Lync 2013, Lync Server 2013, Lync Server 2013, Microsoft No Comments 0 0 0 Microsoft Lync screen sharing always seems so straightforward. If you can IM someone, screen sharing just seems to work. But, on a recent Lync http://www.pei.com/2014/03/microsoft-lync-2013-screen-sharing-issue/ project, that just wasn’t the case. Some users could send screen shares but not accept others’ content, or vice versa. Still others were working fine. When it didn’t work, users were presented with the error “An error occurred during the screen presentation” It didn’t seem to be an infrastructure issue, since some screen shares were successful. It had to be something about the client. Turns out, there were two Windows Updates, KB2760512 and KB2760556, which were causing the difficulty. Apparently, KB2760556 assumes that the prior update is already in place. If it’s not, and both are installed at the same time, this issue can arise. If KB2760512 is fully installed first (including requisite reboots), KB2760556 will install without issue. The resolution is to remove both updates and install each manually, one at a time. It might also be necessary to reinstall the Lync client or repair Office after the removal and reinstallation. Shane Skriletz, PEI Leave a Reply
external contacts. My problem was that every time someone tried to share their screen with me the following message was http://weshackett.com/2013/05/lync-2013-an-error-occurred-during-the-screen-presentation/ displayed: "An error occurred during the screen presentation" Weirdest part, it was still possible to share the whiteboard and transfer files, just not share desktop or specific http://support.risualblogs.com/blog/2013/04/03/an-error-occurred-during-the-screen-presentationlync-2013/ monitors? So after some digging on the internet I found an answer. It turns out that our friend windows update pulls down two updates. Apparently there is something missing error occurred from the KB2760556 patch. It assumes that the previous update is there already, but if you try to install both at the same time things go wrong. I removed all three of the Lync 2013 patches. Control Panel Uninstall a program View all updates Remove all Lync patches under the Office 2013 section. Reboot. Check that screen an error occurred sharing is back. Then apply the Lync patches one at a time. KB2760512 first, and then KB2760556 Afterwards check screen sharing is still working. I hope this saves someone else the annoyance of missing a meeting presentation. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Lync 2013 but could not accept the sharing, this would error out with the below messages - The root cause of this was two KB’s that had been installed via Windows Update - KB2760512 and KB2760556. After these had been uninstalled and the laptop had been rebooted, regular screen sharing experience had resumed. Might be useful should you see this error in your environments.
