I tried exact same steps , that is uninstalled and downloaded the standalone packages. but I am unable to install them. I get error saying "there are no products installed on this system http://www.skype4bexpert.com/2013/04/03/lync-2013-unable-to-share-screen-an-error-occurred-during-the-screen-presentation/ that are affected by this update" Reply Georg Thomas says: April 11, 2013 at 2:20 am Hi, Are you using the RTM of the Lync 2013 client and the correct architecture 32/64-bit of the patches? Reply Skymaster says: April 11, 2013 at 3:59 am yes its a RTM version. I have downloaded the x64 packages. just to update you , I installed office 2013 on a windows 7 laptop. lync 2013 is working perfectly on the windows 7 machine. user can view screen shared with him. currently issue I am facing is specifically on windows 8 machines. Reply Georg Thomas says: April 11, 2013 at 4:19 am Without the updates installed are you able to screen share normally? Reply Skymaster says: April 11, 2013 at 4:36 am after I uninstalled the two updates , luyc 2013 stopped working. It would crash. and updates were not getting installed. finally windows updates listed out the updates and finally had to get them installed to get lync working I am going to try installing lync 2010 and see if the issue persists or not. Reply Skymaster says: April 11, 2013 at 9:13 am Update : I installed Lync 2010 and issue is resolved. i.e users can now view the shared screen. Conclusion till now : Issue seem to be with Lync 2013 on Windows 8 Lync 2013 on Windows 7 works perfectly fine. Hope this helps Reply c0d3m0nk3y says: April 19, 2013 at 4:57 pm I can
Office 365. After launching my expertise with MS Mail, I experienced Exchange 2000 Conferencing and now focus on Lync 2013 and Skype for Business, since the http://lyncuc.blogspot.com/2014/07/lync-2013-client-desktop-sharing-show.html TAP was released. Microsoft awarded me multiple times with MVP Skype http://support.risualblogs.com/blog/2013/04/03/an-error-occurred-during-the-screen-presentationlync-2013/ for Business Status for my professional work and community support. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 Lync 2013 Client, Desktop Sharing shows blank screen (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1) I came across this problem, where a customer reported: A user could not participate on desktop error occurred sharing session, neither in conference nor in a p2p session. Other video related submission were working, like video or white board. First I was guessing it could have been the video driver, but if video in Lync was working it didn't sound quite logic. After investigating this problem, I saw a ActiveX blocking Error Message an error occurred in the Eventviewer: Microsoft Lync CLSID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} CATID: {9B179D6E-9BDB-454b-BE3D-89F9A792BD39} The ActiveX Compatibility setting disabled loading this object to help protect your security. 15.0.4433.1506 0x80004005 This let me investigate more closer into Internet Explore. Well even there is couldn't see anything directly: Microsoft reports several TechNet article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240797/en-us http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909738/en-us So you need to change the ActiveX Control Settings for Lync 2013 Client: SOLUTION: Go and delete both registry keys. A reboot is not necessary and it will work. In Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 they are hidden here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} Author: Thomas Poett MVP, Managing Consultant Microsoft Unified Communication Thx to Joao Loureiro from Microsoft for this info's he provided. Lync 2013 but could not accept the sharing, this would error out with the below messages - The root cause of this was two KB’s that had been installed via Windows Update - KB2760512 and KB2760556. After these had been uninstalled and the laptop had been rebooted, regular screen sharing experience had resumed. Might be useful should you see this error in your environments.
