i run the system update "error occured while looking for updates"i dont know exactly why this is, but in an attempt to fix this, i ran theese commands: # conary update conary openfiler conary repository # conary updateall the first command worked fine, but the second command gives this error: " The following dependencies would not be met after this update: net-snmp:lib=5.4.1-5.0.1-1 (Already Installed) requires: trove: net-snmp:data which was provided by: net-snmp:data=5.3.1-2.1-2 (Erased) net-snmp:lib=5.2.1.2-4.7-1 (Already Installed) requires: trove: net-snmp:data which was provided by: net-snmp:data=5.3.1-2.1-2 (Erased) " how can i fix this? EDIT [root@nas ~]# conary update openfiler Applying update openfiler latest version download job: Updateopenfiler(:doc :runtime) (r1563-2-1 -> r1584-1-1) Creating database transaction (3 of 3)...changeset cannot be applied: applying update would cause errors: file contents conflict for /opt/openfiler/etc/smb_settings.xml so, do i have to go delete that xml file? (Unless you really don't care about the data you are going to store on Openfiler.) We were using a system with Openfiler to store backups of backups, and it https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/279625-openfiler-after-installation would randomly lose all the Openfiler configuration settings when it rebooted. This only happened a few times before we found that the money we saved not buying a real NAS device was quickly wasted on the time we spent having to reconfigure Openfiler. 1 Pure Capsaicin OP Helpful Post Scott Alan Miller Dec 5, 2012 at 8:37 UTC Niagara Technology Group (NTG) is an IT service provider. We don't recommend OpenFiler because you risk finding that the default (included) iSCSI stack lacks support for SCSI-3 reservations and can cause your data to become corrupted (especially in an environment like virtualization) and to fix this you need to buy a one thousand euro iSCSI replacement module. Likely you would not realize this until after your data is corrupted, however. Use any Linux distro or any BSD distro. Far, far better. 0 Sonora OP rdineshkumar.phl Dec 6, 2012 at 4:58 UTC Thanks for the reply. Okay, i will try some other linux distro most probably ubuntu 12.04 and install kernel-server & nfs-common.
