hitting some Oracle bug. –ibre5041 May 27 '15 at 9:21 It seems like I can not run purge dba_recyclebin. –Ravi May 27 '15 at 9:23 purge recyclebin if you don't have DBA role –Rene May 27 '15 at 9:24 That's what I tried and I mentioned on my post –Ravi May 27 '15 at 9:28 1 But if the drop errors only started after the purge errors, they are probably related. Did you try to re-drop a BIN$ table before the issue began? You need to contact Oracle support anyway, I think, or at least your DBA who may be able to fix it or may have to contact support. –Alex Poole May 27 '15 at 10:15 | show 4 more comments 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote One possible explanation is a database trigger that fires for each DROP TABLE statement. To find the trigger, query the _TRIGGERS dictionary views: select * from all_triggers where trigger_type in ('AFTER EVENT', 'BEFORE EVENT') disable any suspicious trigger with alter trigger

Action: If the situation described in the next error on the stack can be corrected, do so; otherwise contact Oracle Support. Many users of the new Oracle 11i find themselves being confronted by http://www.dba-oracle.com/sf_ora_00604_error_occurred_and_recursive_sql_level_string.htm ORA-00604. On this forum, a user finds ORA-00604 after attempting to run a newly created table using select*from cdc; The message they are receiving is: ORA-00604: Une erreur s'est produite au niveau SQL r?ursif 1 ORA-04068: ?at de packages existant rejet? ORA-04063: package body "SYS.DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH" a des erreurs ORA-06508: PL/SQL : Impossible de trouver unit?de programme appel?br> ORA-06512: ?ligne 3 They are wondering how to get rid of ORA-00604. The user found that to resolve ORA-00604, they needed to try re-compiling their DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH package using SYS. Running this repeatedly until invalid packages no longer show, should clear up any issues throwing ORA-00604. I am using it in after logon trigger and restricting few users. I am displaying my error message. But I am getting the below https://community.tableau.com/thread/134804 errors also with my application error message. Is it possible to suppress the below error messages and want to display only the application error message. ******************************************************** 1)ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 2)ORA-06512: at line 53 ******************************************************** error occurred Thanks, SC. and we said... you cannot, it works the way it works. Applications are responsible for displaying to end users what the application thinks is appropriate. This is something your application would do - eg: put up a message box that says "login failed, sorry" SQLPlus displays the entire call stack because the developers of sqlplus felt that was most appropriate. You can have your applications display whatever you feel is appropriate. It was useful to convince other people that it's not possible. One more question July 26, 2006 - 3:28 pm UTC Reviewer: S Tom, Thank you for your response. I have an other question. Could you pls tell me if it is possible to use dbms_output and display a message to the user in after logon trigger. The user can be logged in from sqlplus or any other tool. Followup July 26, 2006 - 4:14 pm UTC but sqlplus is pretty much the only tool that would get it - and sqlplus wouldn't even get it because it doesn't realize it would be there to be gotten. that and the logon trigger doesn't really work in the "same space", the dbms-output stuff isn't going into a buffer we have access to. April 07, 2008 - 10:59 pm UTC Reviewer: Susan from New Zealand if you try instead of raise application error and try to kill the session it still gives the error. The error appears within a trace file, is there no way of suppressing the errors? But when I use the same through tableau, tableau wrappers my query with some customization and creating some temp tables I guess. And finally when it runs the query, I get “Oracle database error 604: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1: ORA-16000: database open for read-only access" Does this mean when creating a data connection in Tableau, I have to use an account which has write access to the source database?I don't think to just ready the data, we need write access just because tableau runs some temp queries.Am I missing anything? How do I resolve this error?Any help on this is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Re: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 because of tableau temp tables Robert Sutter Oct 23, 2013 9:06 AM (in response to Praveen N) Do you have fields added to context? If so, Tableau will attempt to create a temp table for speedy provisioning of data. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 because of tableau temp tables Robert Morton Oct 26, 2013 2:14 PM (in response to Praveen N) Hi Praveen,If your Oracle system does not allow writing -- even to a temporary table -- then you should change your user permissions on the database to revoke temp table creation privileges. This will ensure that Tableau does not attempt to utilize temporary tables as a means of accelerating queries. You may find that performance suffers when compared to a database that is not read-only, bu
