If this is chipset raid for error occurred (0) hard drive AMD you'll want to install AMD's RaidXpert and for Intel its RST (rapid storage technology) And as always, your important data should always have backup copies on other devices available. m 0 l Design1stcode2nd 2 January 2014 00:40:35 Looks like the raid software I have is Intel Matrix Storage Console. And all it tells me is: "A hard drive has reported that a read or write to it has failed" Shows port 0 as having the error I don't see any sort of logging function. m 0 l Related intel matrix storage manager error occurred 0 raid 1 resources Help needed. Step 1 is always grabbing a current backup of your important data. If you dont have a seperate pc to test on, Download WD or Hitachis drive diagnostic DOS ISO tool and burn yourself a test disk. Leave the disk in the DVD drive , you'll be booting from it in a minute. Reboot the pc into bios and change the sata mode to ahci. and select the dvd drive as the boot device. Reboot and run the full/extended test. This will take about 2hrs per drive if I remember right. If the drives test good then enter the bios again and turn raid back on and make it the primary boot device. It should pick the drive & array config up from data stored on the drives themselves. If one or both are bad - replace them. m 0 l Design1stcode2nd 5 January 2014 04:23:25 After looking into it the system is 6 1/2 years old so I am getting a new one. Th

So basically I noticed the problem when I overclocked my system to 3.5Ghz, which I think was stable as I ran prime95 for a good 13 hours. But when I loaded up Left 4 Dead, it crashed about 20 http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/raid-0-error-occurred-0-help-please.109740/ minutes in giving me the BSOD. On rebooting there was an error shown within my RIAD array showing this. I noticed this was obviously not right, yet my system booted and was fine for "normal" activities (I put my system at its default clocks). Anyway my system is fine, accept when I am gaming and it just does the same as before and crashes during game. The sound goes first like it can't process it fast enough and then crashes. I have ran the "HD Tune Test" and there is no bad sectors, yet when reading around people have ran a program called "Intel Matrix Console" so I ran this program and it showed this. So from what others have said I believe I have to replace the broken hard drive. If this is true I was wondering weather I could take an ISO image of my current system and then just get a new hard drive and then burn it to my new RAID array. I hope you guys can clarify my current problem and any help is greatly appreciated, I am going to head of to bed now as I have been trying multiple things and I need sleep, so I will read your responses tomorrow Dec 4, 2009 at 2:30 AM #2 AsRock TPU addict Joined: Jun 23, 2007 Messages: 14,329 (4.20/day) Thanks Received: 3,812 Location: US System Specs System Name: weee

But since http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=485781 the case only supports two drives and I was running out of space, I replaced the two 500 GB drives with two identical 1 TB drives. I copied the old partitions (including the OS partition) using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10, which worked fine. The system booted and ran perfectly all day. Now, on only the second day I've tried to use this system with the 2 TB capacity, the RAID management system that runs during the BIOS loading reports that one of the error occurred two disks has some unspecified "error". No other information is provided. Obviously, I can't fix it inside Windows, since it won't boot. You should probably find the documentation for your RAID card, or contact the support department of the company that makes it, to find out if there is any way to get more detailed diagnostic information. It is likely that one of the disks is defective. I would just return it and try another one (you do have backups, right?)
