Error Updating Certifier Id Lotus Domino
Question When attempting to recertify a user ID, either via email or through the tools available in the Domino Administrator (Admin Client), you may receive the following error: "Entry not found in index". Answer In this case, the reason for this error was that the server was set to 'Local' in the 'Choose a Certifier' dialog box: Because the server is set to 'Local', the CERTLOG.NSF is unable to be located. Setting this field to the correct server where CERTLOG.NSF is located will prevent this error from occurring. The error may also happen if this field is set to a server that does not have a CERTLOG.NSF database on it. Either create one for that server (choose the CERTLOG.NTF template when selecting File -> Database ->New) or choose another server in the environment with a CERTLOG.NSF in its data directory. If you are doing this for a user, the ID should not be in use, the same for a server. You need to do it on a copy that is not in use while it is being certified. I hope this helps ! 0 LVL 18 Overall: Level 18 Lotus IBM 18 Message Expert Comment by:marilyng2007-04-04 It would seem that the certifier ID that you are using is not in your domino directory. Check the public directory under certifiers, and make sure the one that you are using is listed. If it is not, either use one that is listed, or you need to add the certifier ID, and paste the public key for that ID into the new entry. If you don't grab the right, current certifier, you will get this error. 0 Message Author Comment by:makrum2007-04-11 ok. i didnt get a chance to try either solution. the problem s worse now. when a user tries to connect he gets the error: "Entry not found in index". and when i check the server events i see the following: username/department/Gov from host 10.1.1.100 failed to authenticate: Your public key was not found in the name and address book. Error locating a Domino Directory entry for certifier /OU=deprartment/O=Gov: Entry not found in index this means than nobody can use lotus right know. any ideas 0 LVL 18 Overall: Le
