Question The following message appears twice an hour in the log.nsf file and on the console for a Lotus Domino server for i5/OS: "Error updating local ID file: Cannot access error updating local id file lotus notes or create the ID file." Answer This error can occur if the server.id file has the wrong ownership. Make sure the owner of the server.id file is QNOTES, and change the ownership if necessary to correct the error. Then restarted the server and Domino. Got several database that have a replication Date to far in the future but got them fixed. Went into Log.nsf and found entries for http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ndseforum.nsf/xpTopicThread.xsp?documentId=DB1DF97ECF7E655885257DC50078891F 9938 and deleted them. Now when I start the Domino server I get an error "Error updating local ID file: The information in the supplied certificate from the Address Book entry is out of date." I have seen some solutions for this when working with a client but this happens as the server boots up and no clients are logged in. In addition none of the server console is being written to the log.nsf I re-certified the server.id file and copied it back onto the server, but that does not appear to help. So somewhere the server must still have the 9938 date stored but I can't figure out where or how to fix it. Thanks Bradley IneichenJan 7, 2015 10:47 PM176 PostsCertificate issueull a backup of the address book, and copy/paste the certificates from the backup into the current address book, or just replace the current address book with a backup copy. Now when the user authenticates with the server the following warning is displayed: "Error Updating Local ID File - The Information in the error updating local Supplied Certificate from the Address Book Entry is Out of Date." They are, however, able to access databases on the server. Solution In this case, copying and pasting the public key from the user ID to the corresponding Person document in the Address Book remedied the situation.
