Error Updating Local Id File Your Certificate Has Expired

The ID can open Notes, because the password is valid, but the user cannot do anything else, as the end date has expired. If the user selects File -> Tools -> User ID -> Certificate -> Request Certificate, the following message displays: Server Error: Your certificate has expired. Answer Administrator: Recertify user's ID A user has a Notes ID that has an expired certificate. These steps are performed by the server administrator to correct the user's expired ID. After obtaining the user ID, you (as the administrator) launch the Lotus Domino Administration client. Open the Configuration tab, expand Certification (located on the right hand pane) and select Certify. Select the Certifier ID file. From the Choose Certifier ID dialog box, select the O or OU certifier that was originally used to certify the user ID. Enter the password for the certifier ID. From the Choose ID to Certify dialog box, select the user ID to be recertified. Enter the password for user ID to be recertified. [Optional] In the Certify ID dialog box, you may set or change the following: Registration server, expiration date of the certifier and password length. Click Certify. The Status window displays: Updating address book entry for username/org Successfully updated address book entry for username/org Username/org successfully certified Choose "No" when you receive the following dialog box: Would you like to certify another? Provide the newly-recertified ID file to the user. User: Merge the new certificate Once the administrator recertifies the safe.ID and returns the ID to the user, the user must perform the following steps: Select File -> Security -> User Security -> Your Identity -> Your Certificates -> Get certificates button -> Import (Merge) Notes Certificate. Now when the user authenticates with the server the following warning is displayed: "Error Updating Local ID File - The Information in the Supplied Certificate from the Address Book Entry is Out of Date." They are, however, able to access databases on the server. Solution In this case, copying and pasting the public key from the user ID to the corresponding Person http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/46dom.nsf/0/68f14529d12f410985256d6e006e8ab3?OpenDocument document in the Address Book remedied the situation. I saw her name along with others on the Domino server and renewed the cert. She is the only one that has issues. I went error updating to her machine (A macbook pro running windows via boot camp - a long story) I was requested a renewal, came to my machine and renewed, went back to her machine to accept and the got the following "Error updating local ID file. Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read only)" I checked permissions on the disk, she as full access rights and the disk is not full. Truly confused, other users with the same set up have not experienced this, so error updating local not sure what makes her special. From Admin PC: Open Lotus Notes Administrator > Configuration tab On right, select Certification > Certify > select proper server > select and log on with proper certifier ID Browse to ID file on floppy/USB and extend certificate by X number of years > save Take floppy/USB back to user PC
