Set-receiveconnector Maxinboundconnectionpersource
Everyone, I posted this question in the exchange users forum and they said post it here so here
Maxinboundconnectionpercentagepersource
goes: I have a problem on my SBS2011 server regarding Exchange I thought I should ask here rather than the sbs forums as it is Exchange related. I have
Exchange 2010 Max Inbound Connections Per Source
exchange configured using the POP3 Connector and using a Smart Host. I have started getting this error message the on the 7th of April: MSExchange Transport - Error ID 1021 - SmtpReceive Receive connector Windows SBS Internet Receive XXXXXXXX rejected an incoming connection from IP address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX. The maximum number of connections per source (20) for this connector has maxinboundconnectionpersource unlimited been reached by this source IP address. Now I am not sure what this is about as the only settings I have changed with Exchange is the attachment size limit, everything else was left pre configured by the SBS wizard. I usually only have three users on the server. One thing could be that I am waiting to get my SSL Cert for SBS so I can use Active Sync on WM6.5. I have tried active sync before but it complains about the ssl cert. I just wanted to know if this is anything to worry about and what exactly it means. BTW: From my reviewing of the log it seams that it it is the same 2 IP addresses every time in the log. This is because your spam filter likely sends large batches of messages in each SMTP conversation. The receive connector getting mail from your spam filter is in theory receiving trusted mail exchange 2010 from the the spam filter and shouldn’t be capping out at 20.Resolution: Increase receive connector "max inbound connections per source"Original value: MaxInboundConnectionPerSource : 20New Value: MaxInboundConnectionPerSource : 1024Command used: Set-ReceiveConnector IronPort -MaxInboundConnectionPerSource 1024Full event log error: Log Name: Application Source: MSExchangeTransport Event ID: 1021 exchange error 1021 Task Category: SmtpReceive Description: Receive connector IronPort rejected an incoming connection from IP address 192.168.x.x.
