First, I tried to install it in Windows server 2008 Datacenter edition. I was told that Exchange server 2007 could not install in Datacenter. Then I tried to install it in Windows 7 Professional x64. It did not work. I tried to install it in Windows Vista x64 and still it did not work. Finally, I tried to install a different copy of Exchange http://forums.msexchange.org/Cannot_Install_Exchange_server_2007_in_Windows_server_2008/m_1800543194/tm.htm server 2007 in Windows server 2008 Enterprise edition sp2, x64. I ended up with the exact error message that I have been receiving all along. The error message comes up when I click on setup.exe and try to follow the stages of installation. On the very first page, the images are replaced with X (cross mark)indicating some problem with the page. when I click anywhere in the page, I get the following error message: "An error has occured in the script of this page Line: 263 Char: 4 Error: The system cannot locate the resource specified Code: 0 URL: ///file/C:/Users/xyz/AppData/Local/Temp/default.htm" Under the Install, it shows: Step1: Install .NET framework 2.0-Installed Step2: Install Microsoft Management Console (MMC)-Installed Step3: Install Microsoft Windows Powershell -Installed When I click on Step4: Install Microsoft Exchange, I get the above error message. I am just a beginner in Exchange and so, I do not understand the error message at all. I have tried to set the internet security to Low, but that did not help. The Windows server 2008 is updated. I have enabled the following features: ASP.NET ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters Server Side Includes .NET Extensibility Basic Authentication Windows Authentication Digest Authentication Dynamic Content Compression IIS 6 Management Compatibility Does a

As soon as I hover over any link I get an IE script error (snapshot at link below). I thought this had something to do with IE security settings so I went in and lowered them and enabled just about every security risk known to man kind. I still cannot get past this and haven't been able to find any posts about it. The default HTML file the error points to exchange 2010 sp3 does in fact exist. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. 0 Question by:TheFighter Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 9 Best Solution byharshad1219 Please post the error message ......... This blog post will cover how to install and the Exchange Rollup Update successfully without getting the “Ended prematurely” error. The Setup Wizard for Update Rollup fails with the error “ended prematurely”. It has been the same issue for Update Rollups for both Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010. The installer fails with the information: Setup Wizard for Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 (KB2917508) ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again. The screen dump below also shows what error look like: The reason for the error and why the Update Rollup installer is “ended prematurely” is because the server has User Access Control (UAC) activated on the server. For good reason, it is not recommended to disable the UAC. The error is also shown in the event log, as Event ID: 1024 and with error code 1603. How to Install the Update Rollup The recommended process for installing Update Rollups on the server, is using an elevated command prompt (Open a CMD with Run As Administrator) and make sure the Update Rollup is located on a local drive of the server and start the installer using: SYNTAX example: msiexec /update
