I can't ping by it's name. When I do \\ServerA\sysvol or \\ServerA\netlogon it gives me the following message: This event log message will appear once per connection, After the problem https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2694215 is fixed you will see another event log message indicating that the connection has been established. But when I write ">repadmin /showreps" at command line in ServerA it tells me that is replicating with ServerB but when I do the opposite it tells that ServerB isn't replicating with ServerA since xxx date. ========= At the event viewer it appears the http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/active-directory-replication-problem.3299732/ following messages: 1) The DNS server list of restricted interfaces contains IP addresses that are not configured for use at the server computer. Use the DNS manager server properties, interfaces dialog, to verify and reset the IP addresses the DNS server should listen on. For more information, see "To restrict a DNS server to listen only on selected addresses" in the online Help. 2) The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from ServerA to ServerB for c:\winnt\sysvol\domain using the DNS name ServerA.domain.com. FRS will keep retrying. Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning. [1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name ServerA.domain.com from this computer. [2] FRS is not running on ServerA.domain.com. [3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers. ========== When I try to force replication from command line at ServerB the following message appears: Command: C:\>repadmin /replicate ServerA ServerB /force repadmin running command /replicate against server ServerA.domain.com DsBindWithCred to ServerA.domain.com failed with status 1722 (0x6ba): Can't

Solved DsBindWithCred to DomainNamingMaster failed with status failed with 1722 (0x6ba): Posted on 2008-02-01 DNS Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 7,445 Views Last Modified: 2010-07-26 Hello People. we are conducting a domain rename of our AD and seem to be stuck somwhere in the process. following the steps in the Microsoft "Domain Rename Procedure", we are up to STEP 5, where we are trying failed with status to run: repadmin/syncall /d /e /P /q DomainNamingMaster This generates the error below: DsBindWithCred to DomainNamingMaster failed with status 1722 (0x6ba): Can't retrieve message string 1722 (0x6ba), error 1815. this prompted us to run a netdiag which fails a dns test with the following error: DNS test . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Failed [WARNING] The DNS entries for this DC are not registered correctly on rver '192.168.10.2'. Please wait for 30 minutes for DNS server replicatio [WARNING] The DNS entries for this DC are not registered correctly on rver '192.168.10.3'. Please wait for 30 minutes for DNS server replicatio [FATAL] No DNS servers have the DNS records for this DC registered. so now, focus is changed to trying to resolve this as I think the repadmin error is citing a dns resolution fault b/w the DCs (we have 2). having tried a netdiag /fix and getting the error below (by the way, the .local domain nam
I currently have to try and clean up a mess at work, i'm not a network administrator though (programmer) , but i'm the only one left here that can atleast try to fix it. There are 3 domain controllers, i'll name them PE , PR and CH. The problem is that I can't risk messing around and testing on the live servers too much, because 170 people depend on them, if i screw up, they wont be able to login and other things and while it certainly isn't an ideal situation at the moment, people don't notice a lot of problems, by some miracle things seem to run 90% ok. The biggest problems/symptoms are: -------------------------------------------- - sometimes mapped networkdrives to a server disappear on people's pcs, and some server-side applications they start with a shortcut dont work either. (target account name invalid) This however only happens sometimes and can mostly be fixed by luck and rebooting the pc a couple of times. Which led me to believe I could find out which domain controller caused the issue, so i ran a VB script that showed me the DC the pc used to Auth with, but so far all 3 DC's names have come up for different people when they had this issue, so i'm not any wiser cause of it. Another way to temporarely fix it, was to manually change the shortcuts people use to IP instead of server names. But that doesn't work for all applications, some still insist to use the servername for some internal operations and fail. - replication seems to have been failing for a long time (tombstone 60+ days), so i can not create new user accounts for new staff members, I tested out changing all the information for an existing user account (account for a staff member that no longer works here), so logon name, password , member of , .... and this seems to work if I change the exact same thing on all 3 domain controllers manually, which i guess is logical, since I don't have to create any unique IDs that need to be replicated in this manner. This however just buys me some time to add new staff until I run out of accounts to re-use. - Some pcs have issues login in, "The Trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed". This is only 5% or so of the PCs and mostly Vista machines. A temporary fix for this seemed to be pulling the network cable and retyping the login info again, login would then work (on cached info i presume?) and then replug network cable. As you can see, i can temporarely keep thi
