Karl Middleton Guest Started getting this in the event log: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeIS Event Category: General Event ID: 1194 Date: 8/07/2004 Time: 10:13:26 AM User: N/A Computer: STATESMAN Description: Accept clients on external interface MAPIRPC failed with error 0x4b1. For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. The error occurred after applying ALL the patches detailed on http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/downloads/default.mspx. Looked up MS Kb and found two articles 296765 and 836565. First applies to Mobile Server 2001 and the second applies to Exchange 2000 Enterprise. Neither these state they https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/c9fe5f78-0816-41f8-baba-496c4515cfd1/accept-clients-on-external-interface-mapirpc-failed-with-error-0x4b1?forum=exchangesvradminlegacy are applicable to Exchange 2003. However, I did make the registry changes suggested in 296765 but to no avail. 836565 says the message can be ignored but this does not sit right: there was no error before, so why should there be one now. Anyone seen this and how do I get rid of it?
