Even changed vmk ip addesses. but still same problem. tried vmkping/ping each hosts vmk ips and works. Its random. sometimes vmotion works but most of the time it doesnot and times out.Tried it again and now it gives thisFailed to initialize migration at source. Error 195887109. Failed With Error Connection Closed By Remote Host, Possibly Due To Timeout (195887167).
to vCenter Server version 5.5. U2d and ESXi server version 5.5 the migration swap type is not supported for migration. U2a. A few days back i got involved in a virtual machine migration (VM) issue. The VMs were suppose failed waiting for data. error 195887167. connection closed by remote host, possibly due to timeout. to be migrated from one vSphere cluster to another without any chance of mounting one of the vSphere clusters datastore(s) to the other vSphere cluster. The VM(s) couldn't be https://communities.vmware.com/thread/432596?tstart=0 powered off during the migration so the option we had was using the Migrate option from the vSphere Web Client and select "Change both host and datastore": We had to move about 10 VMs and 6 of them completed without any errors but for the additional 4 VMs the process was interrupted randomly. VMs with only 1 VMDK failed as well. When changing both host and datastore one VMDK is migrated at the time and not several VMDKs at the same time as when you just change datastore and not host. Still this did not resolve my problem. failed with error RESOLUTION: Change the IP address of the MVkernel adapter for vMotion traffic. This seems to fix the problem. I then also changed the IP back to original and problem was still resolved. The vMotion VMkernel adpater IP address was previously used but not on this server since new server.
