3.4.7. The server is an AD member using idmap-rid. Posts: 12 Little help with samba? Hi everyone!First I'd like to say that Arch is the best linux distro I have check_ntlm_password: checking password for unmapped user used. Better than ubuntu!! I just switched from ubuntu I ran check_sam_security: make_server_info_sam() failed with 'nt_status_no_such_user' into problems and solved them one by one....sound....scim....I can't believe that samba is what's stopping me.
Samba Guest Nt_status_no_such_user
I can't get any other computers on my network to access my shared folder, only one folder inside /home. Windows complains about cannot access blahblah; another https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2011-December/165288.html Slax live cd machine opens the folder then says the folder doesn't exist. my smb.conf is very simple:[share] path = /home/hsjc/share available = yes browsable = yes public = yes guest ok = yes writable = yes [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP netbios name = hsjc-arch security = share include = /etc/samba/usershare.confI can access other https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=47286 computers on the network alright.... Any help will be appreciated.EDIT: Some update. I've been working on this all night. By adding the log I found that [2008/04/18 01:43:52, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(319) check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [nobody] -> [nobody] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USERThis is what i dont understand. I set public = yes and why am I getting this authentication error? I would like guest access (no prompt for username & pass) and write access on my /home dir. Right now, when I browse to my samba share it prompts for a username and pass despite having the allow guest options in my conf. It won't even let me login to my own share with my current username and pass. I've tried many other options and commenting various lines in the global part but nothing works. Here's my smb.conf Code: [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP netbios name = Devbook passdb backend = tdbsam printing = cups printcap name = cups printcap cache time = 750 cups options = raw map to guest = Bad User include = /etc/samba/dhcp.conf logon path = \\%L\profiles\.msprofile logon home = \\%L\%U\.9xprofile logon drive = P: usershare allow guests = No domain logons = Yes domain master = Yes security = user wins support = No add machine script = /usr/sbin/useradd -c Machine -d /var/lib/nobody -s /bin/false %m$ local master = Yes os level = 65 preferred master = Yes wins server = [users] comment = All users path = /home read only = No inherit acls = Yes veto files = /aquota.user/groups/shares/ browseable = Yes create mask = 755 directory mask = 755 guest ok = Yes guest only = Yes Reply With Quote 22-Jan-2014,16:12 #2 venzkep View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries View Articles Wise Penguin Join Date Nov 2009
