The video poster is actually fixing a path file for Runescape private servers, but the fix should work for anything where Java needs to access it's own files. He talks fast and clicks fast, so you may have to watch it a couple of times or pause it, but it's not complicated really. :-) ~ Cat ~ Cats Meow · 4 years ago 0 Thumbs up 0 Thumbs down Comment Add a comment Submit · just now Report Abuse What I found to work for me with this exact error is to

This solved my problem! –Mirjalal Talishinski Jun 7 '15 at 8:14 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote I had a message like yours or another one ("download failed to ...\LocalLow") when I tried to execute directly from java website). I checked out that folder (LocalLow), in fact there was a problem with that folder's ownership (the owner was "unknown" and I still don't know how was it possible) so I changed the ownership of the folder as "user" and I managed to install Java without any error message. share|improve this answer edited Feb 26 '12 at 15:11 slhck 125k38315362 answered Feb 26 '12 at 14:55 Marco 111 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote On my Vista PC, the folder %HOMEPATH%/AppData/LocalLow was not writable neither for me nor for Administrators. Granting "write" permissions to this "LocalLow"-Folder solved the issue for me. share|improve this answer answered May 15 '13 at 5:31 girafi 112 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote This hasn't worked for me either, where Java can't be install on a computer that has i

Hello all I'm in Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit running PlayOnLinux and wine 1.5.1 Some games have their own little launchers, usually mmorpgs such as Star Trek Online for example. I found that these launchers can use flash and steam itself uses flash - which is why a lot of my navigation was troublesome at the beginning - I didn't realise it did! I've managed to install flash through PoL but I seem unable to install Java. When attempting to install it from an online .exe, I get the error: Download failed: from=http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.6.0_31-b79/windows-i586/jre1.6.0_31-c-l.msi,to=Sun/Java/fre1.6.0_31/jre1.6.0_31-c-l.msi So I try the offline installer but get this error: Installer : Wrapper.CreateFile failed with error 3: Path not found. Any idea how I can get Java installed? I have tried running it in WinXP and Win7 mode. Adv Reply April 12th, 2012 #2 aura7 View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Gee! These Aren't Roast
