If you're seeing 80072ee7 and 0x8024402c errors in your client's WindowsUpdate.log then this may be your issue: ======== Issue: Clients don't show up in the WSUS console, thus they do notget updates. Soap Client Error = 5
everyone I'm using a Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition server fully updated and a WinXP Pro SP2 client updated proxycfg windows 7 to 12/2006. This is a setup I've created for WSUS testing purposes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- The server is a Domain Controller and a WSUS SP1 server. The client computer is registered in the domain https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/sus/2008/09/24/wsus-client-sync-fails-with-80072ee7-and-0x8024402c-errors-in-windowsupdate-log/ and has a GPO applied to its OU with the proper WSUS requirements. Synchronization on the WSUS server has completed successfully and all the WSUS configurations have been set properly (i.e., what updates to detect, what to download, etc.). The client is successfully identified by the WSUS management interface. The problem is that it will just not "pull" updates. A yellow Automatic Updates icon should http://www.wsus.info/index.php?showtopic=9238 appear in the system tray saying there are updates to be downloaded/installed, but there is none. I've opened the WindowsUpdate log file on the client and there's certainly something suspicious there: 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU ########### AU: Initializing Automatic Updates ########### 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU AU setting next detection timeout to 2007-02-15 08:42:22 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU # WSUS server: http://DC1:8530 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU # Detection frequency: 1 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU # Approval type: Pre-install notify (Policy) 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU # Auto-install minor updates: Yes (Policy) 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU # Will interact with non-admins (Non-admins are elevated) 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU ############# 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU ## START ## AU: Search for updates 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU ######### 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 598 AU <<## SUBMITTED ## AU: Search for updates [CallId = {11965D18-D2B3-4334-8AFF-BED2C85D104C}] 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 4c0 Agent ************* 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 4c0 Agent ** START ** Agent: Finding updates [CallerId = AutomaticUpdates] 2007-02-15 10:42:22 840 4c0 Agent ********* 2007-02-15 10:43:12 840 4c0 Misc WARNING: Send failed with hr = 80072ee7. 2007-02-15 10:43:12 840 4c0 Misc WARNING: SendRequest fail
