I recently had it and another DC tombstone and I had to dcpromo and a metadata cleanup. I have been having all sorts of replication issues in this domain and am desperatly trying to sort them out! At the top of the report you will see https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23703761/Dcdiag-failing-CSLDC01-DsBindWithSpnEx-failed-with-error-1727-CSLDC01-LDAP-search-failed-with-error-55.html that a server digibhdc1 is causing replication latency warnings. It is turned off at a remote site and I am trying to get it back up. (why this failed with error just started happening is bemusing to say the least)I ran dcdiag to check if this could shed some light - and it threw up the error:--------[xxxxxx] LDAP bind failed with error 58,The specified server cannot perform the requested operation..***Error: The machine, xxxxx could not be contacted, because of a bad net response. Check to make sure that this machine is a Domain Controller.--------I can assure you it is a domain controller, running Active Directory and DNS, all seem to be running fine.I've checked the servers can see each other and communicate (I can certainly login to the domain from the Exchange Server, which is serviced by Active Directory on the DC in question, and run dns lookups)Can anyone provide any answers or ideas? Many thanks in advanceDamian Post #: 1 Featured Links* RE: DCDiag throws error: LDAP Bind failed with error 58 - 2.Mar.2005 8:37:00 PM BeTaCam Posts: 420 Joined: 24.Feb.2003 From: India Status: offline Hi check previous post for reply.Did you manually remove an Exchange installation using ADSIEdit ?Looks like your DSAccess is problem
child domain. When I try to connect to the domain with Active directory Users and computers snap-in, I receive an error message "The server is not operational". I have checked the dns-settings on the parent domain and on the child domain. All settings seems correct. I can ping both the servername (with netbios name and fqdn) and the domain. And when I run dcdiag /s:servername I get an error: LDAP search failed with error 55, Win32 Error 55. I run the command from a workstation on the parent domain where I can successfully ping the dc. If I run the same command, dcdiag/s:servername directly on the server I see no error. Any ideas would be helpful.
