of all, I'm sorry if it's a noobie problem, I'm just a initiate on this kind of things. I'm trying to read from the memory of the MineSweeper to learn that kind of stuff, but I have a little problem. When I try to print the modules it says to me I have no rights to do that. I know that's because the memory of that process is protected openthreadtoken impersonation from write-read, and to read from it, I need to have debug rights. And right there, my problem is when I call the OpenThreadToken(..), it fails with code 1008, and that's ERROR_NO_TOKEN. Here you are the code, and sorry for the long intro: int privileges(){ HANDLE token; TOKEN_PRIVILEGES tp; DWORD siz = sizeof(TOKEN_PRIVILEGES); if (OpenThreadToken(GetCurrentThread(), TOKEN_ADJUST_PRIVILEGES | TOKEN_QUERY, FALSE, &token) != 0){ //HERE IT FAILS LookupPrivilegeValue(NULL, SE_DEBUG_NAME, &tp.Privileges[0].Luid); tp.PrivilegeCount = 1; tp.Privileges[0].Attributes = SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED; if (AdjustTokenPrivileges(token, 0, &tp, siz, NULL ,NULL) != 0){ cout << "--Conseguido acceso debug.\n"; return TRUE; } else { cout << "fail adjust\n"; return FALSE; } } else { cout << "fail if: " << GetLastError() << endl; cin.get(); return FALSE; } I don't know why it fails. I've tried with the Microsoft example too, but same problem. Does anybody know why it fails? c++ winapi thread-safety token share|improve this question asked Sep 29 '14 at 19:33 Norwelian 85 Incidentally, you don't usually need SE_DEBUG_NAME in order to debug programs running under the same user account. –Harry Johnston Sep 29 '14 at 20:07 Then why I cannot read from the MineSweeper process memory? Is there another way to access to it? (I would've posted another question, but the li

Sep 20, 2007 #1 FLATcura [H]Lite Messages: 96 Joined: Oct 20, 2006 Hi, i built a new server which is also a domain controller, its windows 2003 server standard it is a DC/DNS/File Server/Database server/Terminal Services Server in my event log i have 100s if not more of the following error Event Type: https://hardforum.com/threads/userenv-error-causing-group-policy-not-to-be-applied-please-help.1224114/ Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1054 Date: 9/20/2007 Time: 9:39:29 AM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: *SERVER NAME* Description: Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. (An unexpected network error occurred. ). Group Policy processing aborted. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. the best microsoft suggests is the problem is my DNS, but from what i can tell, the DNS is fine.. Users who are supposed to be locked down (only one application can be used) are randomly getting no restrictions... this is bad... please please help! i found a previous thread of someone else with a userenv problem, but there was never a solution.. and half of the help i find online involves these tools that i either dont have or cant find such as netdiag thanks FLATcura, Sep 20, 2007 FLATcura, Sep 20, 2007 #1 Sep 20, 2007 #2 oakfan52 [H]ard|Gawd Messages: 1,578 Joined: Oct 5, 2003 Is the servers TCP/

I've recently changed my WSUS server and updated the target server in the server GPO that gives them the settings and they are only being applied to some of my server but all of my workstations (which makes me think GPO problem).I have a Windows 2003 AD network that has several servers that complain about errors when updating their Group Policies. Checking their Event viewer nothing is showing up about the updating the policies. I've enabled logging for the Userenv service just in case something's not showing up in the event log. I'm not noticing anything wrong (server is called reports.domain.com): USERENV(375c.2794) 22:51:05:627 LibMain: Process Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\gpupdate.exe USERENV(375c.2544) 22:51:05:643 RefreshPolicy: Entering with 1 USERENV(375c.2544) 22:51:05:643 RefreshPolicy: Leaving.
