The Live CD boots and runs fine -- is there a copy of vmlinuz on the CD (or in the initrd) that I could just copy over? is there a copy online somewhere? the version that is installed is 2248032 bytes lone, dated 2010-05-24 and md5sum gives bd32cb7923a85c74e1689fb26629a14e -- I find that 'file' is unable to identify this as a kernel image although 'strings' confirms that it is a compressed image, but on my normal Ubuntu machine vmlinuz is 4MB and is identified as Code: Linux kernel x86 boot executable bzImage, version 2.6.32-22-generic (buildd@palme, RO-rootFS, root_dev 0x6801, swap_dev 0x3, Normal VGA is it possble both the 5.0 and 5.01 installations are shipping with a corrupt vmlinuz? I find that in the Frugal install, I was also given the Error 13 Invalid Format error, and at the Grub command line, any arguments to the kernel command which would resolve to real files would give the same response (and invalid filenames gave the expected Not Found error) I don't understand how Lucid Puppy could run so well off the CD, yet be unable to

I then tried installing CentOS 6.7 into the unallocated space but now, when I try to start Ubuntu MATE via GNU GRUB version 0.97, I get the "Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format" message. While I can still log into CentOS, I can now no longer log into Ubuntu MATE. Below is the output of "fdisk -l" run through the CentOS terminal, where /dev/sda1 is the Ubuntu root partition, /dev/sda2 is the Ubuntu home partition and /dev/sda3 is the Ubuntu swap partition. /dev/sda4, /dev/sd
