I need to move a massive movieclip that contains possibly 100MB of vector drawings and animation over to another file. It usually takes minutes to copy and then even longer to paste it into the other file. Recently though it just crashes, or I get a message appear saying "Flash is out of memory, to increase memory, quit flash and allocate more virual memory in the system properties dialogue box." https://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?337189-4GB-RAM-but-get-error-msg-quot-Flash-is-out-of-memory-quot-! I have 4gb of ram, so it should be plenty. Can someone please tell me how I can transfer large movieclips from one .fla to another .fla. If you cannot copy the entire movieclip in 1 go. Make an empty movieclip in the new file and copy a given range of frames(all layers). Once copied and pasted then copy the next given range of frames and so on. And that might work hopefully. Another sort of a stupid solution just pop in to my mind... try coping it through your network - using another PC. Because perhaps there's so
• PRINT • NEXT >> • For all you with "Out of Memory" errors in Encore CS3 by Jon Gulbrandson on Aug 19, 2008 at 10:28:39 pm This problem has bugged me all day. I'm wrapping up this HUGE DVD project https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/145/863785 for a client, everything is going smoothly. I've already built this DVD and am now http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,379800,379817 making some revisions. I click Build... it stalls. Try again.. same thing So, i narrow the problem down to the transcoding business... I transcode manually. ERROR! "OUT OF MEMORY! SAVE AND EXIT NOW" Ya.. google didn't help, adobe didn't help I set the 3Gb switch - nothing Checked my codecs/priority - nothing Re-imported the assets - nothing Cleared my Media thing in not enough regedit - nothing you know what fixed it? I opened a new project, named it something dumb because it was temporary, imported the files I wanted to transcode. Transcoded them (which it performed amazingly well).. closed that project, opened up my problematic one... and now it works like a charm. ?????????????? I've had my share of retarded work-arounds with pinnacle/avid products, but Adobe.. come on... It refuses to build the DVD because it won't transcode the AVI. So i manually transcode only to get "Out of Memory." Doubt it... I've got over 2Tb HDD memory and 4Gb DDR2 RAM. I'm sporting a Intel Core2 Quad @ 2.8Ghz and Dual Nvidia 8800GT in SLI... I've got more memory than windows can shake a stick at. The worst thing is, this F'n thing has worked flawlessly until today. I haven't installed anything wierd. I just reopened my project, replaced some clips, same codec / compression and everything... I've tried multiple work-arounds and fixes... It's real hit or miss, sometimes it'll work, other times it won't load, other times it'll run out of memory, other time's it'll crash, other times it gives me some BS operating sys. error... I've tried everything. If I load the exact same clips that are giving me problems into a NEW project, they transcode fine... This was my original workaround, and now it's not working... Then it'll work... then it won't... I'm pulling my hair out here... any ideas?Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: For all you with "Out of Memory" errors in Encore CS3by James Mo

It could be a spurious error from a corrupted file... does it give you the error when opening or working with other files? It could be a common issue encountered when opening a file that resides on a remote server. In that case, copy the file to your local hard drive and then copy it back to the server after you've worked on it and saved changes. It could be that it's attempting to cache on a drive that's full or nearly full. It could be something else. You didn't give us a lot of information to work with.
