You can fix this issue by making some changes to the registry. However any mistake during modification can lead you to serious trouble so please take a backup of your registry before trying this method. Now moving ahead, click on "Start" button and then choose "Run". Type "regedit" in the run command and hit the "Enter" button on your keyboard. You will see the registry editor screen so navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Applets\Paint". Now delete the "Paint" key, exit the registry editor and restart your computer. It should fix your issue. If the same issue still persists then create a new user account and use paint in that account. ~Support Community Manager Reply With Quote 26-02-201309:04 PM #3 ghanathey swetha Array Join Date Nov 2012 Posts 509 Re: MS-Paint err

Solved Error: not enough memory or resources-paint not working Posted on 2006-03-10 Windows XP 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 2,760 Views Last Modified: 2011-10-03 Hi, I am not able to use MS Paint tool that comes with Win XP. When i try to open it i got error: "There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, and then try again." I have Win XP with 512kb RAM. From the Task manager, I see that there is available 60% of total physical memory. I also copied a file mspaint.exe from another computer to C:\windows\System32 and C:\i386 and then try to run, but the same error. Any ideas of what is going on and how to fix it? I see Colors, General-bar1 trough 4, General Summary, Recent File list, Settings, Text and View. Am i doing something wrong? Thank you. 0 LVL 4 Overall: Level 4 Windows XP 2 Message Expert Comment by:preskh2006-03-14 I meant the Paint key in the left pane which has the sub-keys Colors, General-Bar etc. You should delete that key. I am not talking about any value in the right pane. Just delete the whole paint key from the left pane. The colors, General-Bar etc keys will also get deleted. When you run Paint again Windows will rebuild it. 0 Mes
