Excel 2007-2016 users tend to see them more than Excel 2003 users. Microsoft re-wrote large portions of Excel when they released 2007. This re-write appears to have affected memory usage. The conclusion we reached from the much testing is that COM add-ins are the major cause of memory issues. COM add-ins sneak onto your PC without permission (or clearly asking). Routinely check and remove them. The two COM add-ins we have seen that cause memory issues are Adobe and Blue Tooth. We have never seen a need for them in Excel. They should be removed immediately. COM add-ins are compiled computer code that manages their own memory. Often at the expense of Excel, especially if they are badly written. Ususally you can run one COM add-in without issues. Two is like walking on thin ice. Three or more - just wait for the crash. It will happen. VBA add-ins (the kind we write) are not compiled and are called Excel add-ins and do not cause memory issues. Excel manages memory for them. We have had all of

Running dcomcnfg and setting identity table as "interactive user" 2. “C:\Windows\SysWOW64 \config\systemprofile\desktop” folder must also exist and you need Full Control permissions to the “systemprofile” and “desktop” 3. GIving IIS apppool\ASP.NET permissions for dcomcnfg stuff (No appool doesn't apply on this machine) 4. Properties > General > Unblock on file in file explorer - Right Click -> Properties of Excel File -> Client on Unblock 5. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders > Cache Changed key Cache to something like C:\Windows\Temp 6. Cleaned out C:\users\appdata\local\temp files and windows\temp. 7. Disabled COM Add-ins in excel 8. Disabled Microsoft protected view in excel AFTER ALL OF THAT... the user is still experiencing the issue except with a slight different error message that suggests the same error. enough memory in excel Tags: Office Excel Memory Apps Last response: May 31, 2012 12:47 AM in Apps General Discussion Share jesperloh April 24, 2012 1:00:58 AM Hi, i met a problem with the excel. Sometimes when i need to save the excel documents, excel will prompt an error saying there is not enough memory. I've done repairing through the CD and it's still the same. The version of windows is XP, and office is 2000. Although the problem is not frequent, but it can be troublesome if i have to save an important file. More about : memory excel psaus a b } Memory April 24, 2012 10:56:12 AM Memory typically has to do with RAM, therefore adding more to your system could help. But the context of your post actually makes me think you're running low on storage. Make sure you're hard drive has enough space. If you're low; Empty the recycle bin, run "Disk Cleanup" (found under Start/accessories/system tools). m 0 l jesperloh April 25, 2012 5:42:34 AM The PC still has 74GB memory, and the RAM is at 2GB. It's far more enough to run excel dont you think? Maybe because it's running win XP and office 2000 made you think my PC is an antique, which made you suggest that i should do disk cleanup right? m 0 l Related resources I try to open a password protected excel file and I get" not enough memory" " the password is incorrect" any suggestions? - Tech Support Not enough memory to run Microsoft Office Excel. - Forum I need a fast laptop for Excel spreadsheets and sufficient memory for large files; Asus 555 or Lenovo Flex 25 - Tech Support ASUS G551JM - Can't allocate enough virtual memory. - Tech Support I have a ZTE Overture 2, and I don't have enough memory on my phone; it came with 8GB of memory on it, and i went and bought 3 - Forum Can't find your answer ? Can you see a pattern in the size of the XLS files that cause problems? As in are the excel files that produce the error over 10MB (or something like that)? Are there any other sc
