error- not enough free memory, write http://www.paulscomputerservice.net/articles/article.php?ID=65 error" After reading the forum thread below it appeared that the only way to fix this error was to reinstall AVG 8. I did not want to do this so I attempted an alternative solution that appears to have worked. However, you may find that my solution not enough was similar to a reinstall. Solution: I went to the AVG 8 Free Edition update page (http://free.avg.com/download-update), downloaded the latest Virus definition file "IAVI: /939" (approx. 31 MB) and I also downloaded the file "Windows: 8.0.233" with description "All necessary modules". I placed both of these files into not enough disk the same folder. Then I opened the AVG 8 user interface and chose "Tools > Update From Directory...". I selected the appropriate folder, the update installed, AVG prompted me to reboot, I rebooted my computer and now everything works great! Please note that even though this worked for me it may not work for everyone. If this solution doesn't work for you, then I recommend reinstalling AVG 8 Free Edition.
