Even though it claimed that RAM was the problem, it still worked. Now its in my G5 imac (not the isite) and it shows up in that file 'About This Mac' under Memory 1.5 not enough GB DDR SDRAM(so its in there). so went in to photoshop with a happy face and it still comes up with the same message when i try to copy a picture in. I'm pretty sure that there is a maximum RAM setting in the preferences. I know that Photoshop Elements has one in the preferences under "Memory & Image Cache".
