Not enough memory to complete transaction. Close some applications and retry. These error messages on a computer, which we will call computer A, can indicate the IRPStackSize bug on the other machine, the server that has the share, which we will call computer B. Go to that other computer, B, open the event log, and check for event ID 2011. If this is present, it is a strong indication for this particular bug. The two computers again: The computer trying to access a share on the othe
enough server storage is available to process this command', is an annoying error that I have come across a couple of times when using some of the machines at work and home over the past not enough server storage is available to process this command server 2012 few years. This isn't an error that will affect every user, but, if you do not enough storage is available to process this command server 2012 come across it, then here are a couple of reasons as to why it can happen: You don't have a DWORD VALUE
Irpstacksize Server 2003
for IRPStackSize in your registry You have a DWORD VALUE for IRPStackSize in your registry but the data value is set too low What might have triggered the error message? You are trying to map a drive? You are http://winhlp.com/node/40 trying to access a shared folder over a network that you set up correctly? You are trying to share files/ drives between a Windows 7 machine and a Windows XP machine You are trying to print over a network, where the printer driver resides on another machine on that network. (This was my 2nd occurrence) Those are just the kind of things I was doing when the error was triggered. The main time that it has come up http://www.techfleece.com/2011/03/03/how-to-fix-not-enough-server-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command-error/ though is when I have correctly set up file sharing over a network and have had no problems accessing those folders and the out of the blue I would get the error message which would prevent me from accessing those files/ drives. Note, that in your Event logs it may show up as, ‘Event ID 2011'. At work all of our machines are running XP Pro and normally work perfectly fine. However, every now and then (and it is rare) this issue will throw a spanner in the works. Normally on a busy day, but that's Sod's Law. It can also occur when trying to share files/ drives between machines running Windows 7 and Windows XP (this is due to the IRPStackSize on the different OS's being different by default) If the error does come up when you are trying to share files between a Windows 7 PC and a Windows XP machine, then the IRPStackSize adjustment needs to be increased on the XP machine not the Windows 7 one. Default value sizes for IRPStackSize in Windows NT | 2000 | XP: Windows NT 4.0 - 11 (default value) Windows 2000 - 15 (default value) Windows XP - 15 (default value) There are many, many things that can cause the IRPStackSize to become too small, but one of the most common reasons are anti-virus so
a Windows XP peer-to-peer network connection. It took several seconds before the computer responded with a message stating the Network share was not accessible and the message "not enough server storage is available to process this command." It turns out this http://www.pchell.com/support/notenoughserverstorage.shtml problem was on the newly formatted computer and it was a registry issue. Follow the steps below to open the registry on the computer you cannot connect to and check for possible missing registry key. Follow these steps to check for problems on the machine you cannot access. 1) Open the registry editor on the machine you cannot connect to by clicking on Start, Run 2) Type REGEDIT and press Enter 3) Click on the plus signs (+) next not enough to the following entries HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services Lanmanserver Parameters 4) In the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor look for a key called IRPStackSize 5) If the key exists, double-click on it and increase the decimal value to 15 and click OK. Close the Registry Editor, reboot the computer and try to connect to the network share. If you are still unable to connect follow the above steps again and increase the decimal number for IRPStackSize by 5 and storage is available try again. Continue to do this until the stack size is large enough to permit access. Personally, I had to increase the number to 25 before I could connect. The decimal range for the parameter is between 11 and 50. 6) If the IRPStackSize key DOES NOT exist in the right-hand column of the registry editor, then click on right-click in the blank area in the right-hand column and choose New 7) Then Click on D-Word under the Key column 8) In the Name of the new key, type the name IRPStackSize and press Enter. Type the name with the correct capitalization as shown above. 9) Now double-click on the IRPStackSize key and type 15 in the value data box and place a dot next to Decimal then click Ok. 10) Close the registry editor and reboot the computer. Try to access the network share again. If the same error appears follow the steps above to increase the value and reboot again. Continue this procedure until the problem is resolved. The decimal range for the parameter is between 11 and 50.
