By Martin Brinkmann on January 13, 2008 in Windows - Last Update:January 7, 2013 78Not enough server storage is available to process this command is a message that you may receive when you try to access a shared resource on a network. The Event ID: 2011 may also http://www.ghacks.net/2008/01/13/not-enough-server-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command/ be written referring to the configuration parameter IRPStackSize. If the IRPStackSize is not present in the Registry the default value which may not be large enough for the server service to administer shared folders on some of https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/not-enough-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command-thrown-when-using-jstack-to-generate-external-thread-dumps-267256354.html the physical drives. To solve this problem open the Registry by pressing Windows and R on the keyboard at the same time. This opens a run box on the system that you can use to load programs. not enough Type in regedit and tap on the enter key afterwards to start the Windows Registry editor. Note that you may receive an UAC prompt which you need to accept before it opens up.Use the folder structure on the left of the window to navigate to the following key in the Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ lanmanserver \ parameters. Check on the right side of the screen if the parameter storage is available IRPStackSize exists. If you can't find the parameter but receive the error message then you should create it to fix the issue. To do so right-click on Parameters and select New > Dword from the context menu. Name the entry IRPStackSize. It should appear on the right once you have done that. Double-click the entry to change its value. The default value for it is 18 and you should raise it to 21 if you get the not enough server storage error.Reboot your computer afterwards and see if the issue has been resolved. If that did not do it, increase the value of the parameter by 3 again and repeat that until your issue has been fixed or you'd reach a value larger than 50. That's the maximum size of the parameter. generate a thread dump using the jstack tool on a Windows platform. This error is thrown when trying to execute the command. Cause Jstack only allows you to connect to JVM's running in the same user context. Many people use a service wrapper to start their products: this puts the JVM in the Local System Account user context. Since this special account has no login shell, you won't be able to force a thread dump normally. Workaround Workaround 1: Change the service wrapper to use another account. Do this from Services>Apache Tomcat Confluence>Properties. Workaround 2: UsePsexec to execute the jstack command as the relevant user. psexec -s "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\jstack.exe" PID >stack.txt Workaround 3: Follow theLive Monitoring Using the JMX Interface directions and set up a JMX monitoring tool like visualVM acting remotely on the JVM. Many of these tools can generate thread dumps externally. Was this helpful? Yes No Thanks for your feedback! Why was this unhelpful?
