Recently while trying to open a hyperlink in an email on Outlook 2013, I got error message that operation failed in outlook went ‘This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer…’ I don’t know why this error is displaying and I tried to fix it with my best knowledge. I changed settings in Outlook 2013 and even looked into its PST file to troubleshoot this error. Nothing has changed! Now, my Outlook 2013 profile is not opening or responding? Any help please…” Referring to above scenario one can observe Outlook user https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/292022 who fall into complicated issue while trying to resolve error message such as “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer…” In fact, this error occurs when you try to open or click on a hyperlink in Outlook and you don’t have default web browser on PC. Or if you have uninstalled default web browse like Chrome, Firefox, etc without setting Internet Explorer as default browser. Since doing so, Outlook refuses to run, although when trying to start it the normal application window is displayed onscreen, then an immediate popup dialogue "! The operation failed".
