The How-To Geek Forums Have Migrated to Discourse How-To Geek Forums / Microsoft Office (Solved) - Outlook 2007: The Operation failed. An object could not be found (4 posts) Started 7 years ago by garrod76 Latest reply from WhyOutlookWhy operation failed outlook 2010 calendar Topic Viewed 35718 times garrod76 Posts: 2 This post has been reported. I have tried operation failed outlook calendar to find an answer for this problem, and although I found similar questions and suggested answers in different groups (even from the Microsoft Office outlook operation failed when sending meeting request site), I don't have a solution yet. Here is my best shot at describing the problem: I use Outlook 2007 and Vista. The To-do bar does not show the tasks portion, only an error message in its place: "The operation failed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2763886 An object could not be found". This has been the case for a while, no matter if I restart the program or the computer. The To-do bar shows the calendar and appointments, which I like, but the problem is with the tasks. Also, when I go to the Calendar folder, the "daily task list" (which I have checked to show in the view options) does not show, and instead the same error message appears. Otherwise email, calendar, contacts and notes work http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/outlook-2007-the-operation-failed-an-object-could-not-be-found fine. When I go to the Tasks folder, on the panel to the left, under "My Tasks" I see two groups: "To-do list" and "Tasks". Every time I go to the Tasks folder the program goes by default to the "To-do list" group, and I don't see any item, only an error message that says "Cannot display the folder". When I click on the next group "Tasks", then all tasks that I have show up, but still they do not show in the To-do bar or in the Calendar view. I found in the Microsoft side a suggested "workaround" to right-click the personal folder, click Properties, click to select the Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box, and then click OK. I found that this check box was already checked, therefore it did not help my case. Here is another piece in case it helps in diagnosing the problem--I do not know whether this is something important or not: When trying to figure out a way to solve the problem I found in the Tasks folder, on the left panel under 'All task items" (a search tool) that when I click on the arrow head next to it, it lists "personal folders" twice, but only one is selected by default. Not sure why it has 2 entries for personal folders, but I have tried clicking both as well and the problem still persists. I wou

Join Now Hey Guys, I am receiving a very obtuse error message from Outlook, only affecting 1 user however. When https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/151268-outlook-2007-2010-operation-failed sending emails; that is when she clicks on Send, she receives in an warning message dialog box https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28011106/Outlook-Operation-Failed-message-when-sending-mail.html with the word Operation Failed in the body and there is only an okay button to press, the title for the box is Microsoft Office Outlook. I have tried the obvious steps: 1. Re-create Email Profile with both Cached mode on and off. 2. Deleted Office 2007 and installed Office 2010 3. Updated to the latest version. Looking into the error it states it operation failed may be a result if a user has gone over their mailbox quota, I have tried turning quota off, giving unlimited quota and also increasing quota size to an amount normally set on boxes and that has had no effect. I have read also it can be caused by the html email signature which I have tried removing, even tried sending the email in plain text. I've only been able to narrow it down to the fact it happens when she is operation failed outlook replying to emails and she has a few emails open on the screen, every other program runs fine and running Outlook's Connection Status everything is fine. The user is connecting to a local Exchange 2007 server. Has anyone else been able to solve this annoying issue? Is this problem happening everytime the person sends an email ? Is it to one email address only or everyone ? Have you tried sending internally and externally ? Have you considered trying the user on another machine as a test to see if it's just a machine issue, if so you could setup a new windows user profile just incase that's corrupt. 0 Serrano OP Carol Nestor Aug 11, 2011 at 8:44 UTC I've seen something like this before, but it only affected 1 message. And it was from someone overseas. It still happens occasionally. Turned out it was the message that was causing the problem. Have you tried copying and pasting the contents of the message into a new message and see if she can send? Or

Solved Outlook - Operation Failed message when sending mail Posted on 2013-01-28 Outlook Exchange 2 Verified Solutions 12 Comments 22,545 Views Last Modified: 2016-01-24 We have some users that use Outlook 2010 and have recently changed from online mode (Exchange 2010) to cache mode. For the most part. things are working well, however some users occasionally get an error dialog when trying to send an email message. The error message simply says 'Operation Failed' and the message will not send. Typically if they save it as a 'draft' and then open and close Outlook and then resend it from the drafts folder it will send ok. It is becoming a nuisance and not sure why it is only happening to 2-3 users out of the 15-20 we recently converted to cache mode.... 0 Question by:snyperj Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 3 Best Solution byDhanukadam Symptoms: An Outlook client may receive an “Operation failed” error message in Outlook when the following conditions are true: - The client is Outlook 2007 or 2010 in online mode. My guess is that their .ost file did not build properly when you made the change over to cached exchange mode. Occasionally when an .ost file is building something happens during the process and the .ost file becomes corrupt. If you disable cached exchange mode, close Outlook, delete .ost, launch Outloook, close Outlook, re-enable cached exchange mode and let the .ost file rebuild. That should resolve the issue. 0 LVL 3 Overall: Level 3 Exchange 2 Outlook 2 Message Accepted Solution by:Dhanukadam2013-01-28 Symptoms: An
