The Attempted Operation Failed Outlook 2016
to vote I uninstalled Office 2013 and installed Office 2016 today. Everything seemed to run smoothly, got it activated and all was well. Until I outlook 2013 auto archive the attempted operation failed started playing around in Outlook and found a problem when I clicked on Manage Rules & Alerts. I get a pop up with the following message: "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found." I am able to log into Outlook Web Access and manage rules from there. outlook 2016 archive the attempted operation failed I saw on several other forums and posts to run in command prompt "outlook.exe /cleanrules" but even running this while opening command prompt as administrator, the problem remains. Has anybody else run into this? I am open to any other suggestions... I am wondering if there might be an ADSI edit required, but not savvy enough with it to know what to look for. If /cleanrules switch doesn't work, we may also try creating a new mail profile in Control Panel and then reconfigure your email account in the new mail profile to see if this issue continues. This methodis reported to have resolved the sameproblem for some users. For your convenience: https://sup

Patch Tuesday was two days ago :-) No other recent updates to Outlook or Exchange 2010. When users go to File >>> Open >>> Other users folder and attach to a shared inbox they are not longer able to search that folder. This error listed below appears. We are not using cached mode and never have. I tested my mailbox in cached mode and error persists. We have business processes that require access to other staff email accounts. All desktops are fully patched and I did check one Msft Hotfix but that was already applied. There are a ton of google search returns on the general error but nothing specific to searching a shared inbox (at least non that I could find). Search on the owner's own email inbox works fine. Has anyone seen this before? "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found" Thanks for any help, Rich Tags: Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook MUI (English)Review it: (9) Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Operation failed in Outlook 2010 when saving emails Outlook 2010 Always having a problem in the morning when opening Outlook 2010   1 2 Next ► 32 Replies Habanero OP Helpful Post OverDrive Feb 13, 2015 at 4:43 UTC I'd start by re-indexing the Exchange server's search 1. Stop the Windows Services: “Microsoft Exchange Search service”, “Microsoft Exchange Host Controller” 2. Delete the Existing CI catalog folder or move it to a new location. Note: The directory name follows the convention CatalogData-- where the first is the GUID of the database, and the second represents the Instance GUID, which is used on a clustered mailbox server to distinguish between the nodes. The following is an example folder name: \CatalogData-b56624f3-bf19-4463-926f-d4705ac3dd08-cc64dd2d-2428-4f12-bba2-79d6d34c4d27 The typical path for the .edb files and the catalog data directory is: C:\program files\microsoft\exchange server\mailbox\first storage group\ 3. Start the Services: “Microsoft Exchange Search service”, “Microsoft Exchange Host Controller” again 0 Poblano OP Snowcrash Feb 13, 2015 at 4:49 UTC Thanks Overdrive.
