When a user tries to open a recurring appointment on a outlook calendar repair assistant shared calendar by selecting "Open this occurrence" they receive an error that says, "Cannot open this item". Outlook Recurring Meeting Changes Not Updating On Calendar
28, 2013 8:16 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote When opening an occurrence of a meeting series, you need write access in order to create the exception item. Because the user with Author permissions does not have write access to this meeting, he gets an error. When opening the series (or an exception item of the series), the user does not need write access, and is able to open and view the entire series (because he has Full Details read permissions). Workaround would be to give the user Editor permissions. Additional Information Previous Outlook versions simply open the series as read-only and do not give the option to open an occurrence. (Confirmed with Outlook 2007.) Cheers, Tony Chen Forum Support ________________________________________ Come back and mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
