Initially I suspected it was a hardware issue. Therefore, I reset CMOS, problem remains, Checked my Maxtor Harddisk (with PowerMax), no problem found, unknown hard error systemroot system32 ntdll dll windows xp Checked my DDR400 SDRAM (with Memtest), no error found. Try a System Restore from here Boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 at bootup and choose 'Safe mode with command prompt' At the command prompt type C:\Windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe Hopefully System Restore will open so choose a Restore Point a few days ago.
