Redo the installation. 2) If the problem persists, try to connect hard drive with another connector. 3) If the problem persists, https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/492555-stop-c0000221-unknown-hard-error-systemroot-system32-ntdll-dll try to use 1 RAM blade(if there is multiple ones), disconnect the others. 4) If the problem persists, reset BIOS 5) If the problem persists, check hard drive and RAM for errors(use utilities like Memtest, checkdisk...etc) 1 Chipotle OP chrism1981 May 12, 2014 at 3:27 UTC Morrison Technical Services Ltd is an IT service provider. Solved Windows 7 BSOD STOP: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error ntdll.dll Posted on 2010-07-31 Windows 7 3 Verified Solutions 10 Comments 2,697 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-10 Hey guys I got a PC here what has a pretty severe problem. It all started up when the screen flickered couple of times and then it froze. Then few times it was just restarting continously and coming up with options for Safe Mode and so on. Then I was asked to have a look at that PC. When I saw it for the first time it came up with Launch Startup Repair / Start Windows Normally options. I chose Launch Startup repair and it ended up with a BSOD and the following message: STOP: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error \systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll The same message comes up when I try to boot that PC from a Win7 installation disk. I could actually get into Safe Mode though. From there I have started sfc /scannow what came up empty. Also I have managed to get to Normal Windows couple of times but it usually ends up crashing following loads of error messages. Current situation is that it won't boot from DVD (BSOD), Safe Mode and Normal Mode won't start (stayes on black screens) - so pretty much stuck. Few specs about the PC: Windows 7 x64 4GB HDD 500GB SATA HDD Any help would be appreaciated. 0 Question by:kirret Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 46 Active today Best Solution bydlethe could be so many things, so best part is to do troubleshooting 101 Since it fails to boot up a CDROM, then no point looking at anything specific to windows (or your hard drive), so motherboard, RAM, Go to Solution 9 Comments LVL 46 Overall: Level 46 Windows 7 8 Message Active today Accepted Solution by:dlethe2010-07-31 could be so many things, so best part is to do troubleshooting 101 Since it fails to boot up a CDROM, then no point looking at anything specific to windows (or your hard drive), so motherboard, RAM, CPU, etc ....
