cause of this error is the lifter motor assembly located in the center of the right side of the printer along the bottom edge. A spring which is used to hold the assembly upright does not provide enough tension so that when the paper tray is inserted the lifter motor does not engage properly with the paper tray. The photo below shows the OEM spring on the left with the replacement spring from the 4v toner cartridge on the right.Tools Required: Phillips head screwdriver, small flat blade screwdriver, needle nose pliers, HP 4v toner cartridge spring.1 Remove the top rear cover and remove the 2 silver screws.2 Open top cover and remove toner cartridge. Remove 2 silver screws securing top cover.3 Remove paper tray.4 With a small flat blade screwdriver pry the rear door attachment arm toward the fusing assembly while gently pulling on the correspoding corner. Remove the rear fuser cover.5 Using needle nose pliers unclip the plastic arm from the inside of the top cover.6 Disconnect wire harness connecting top cover to DC Controller. Remove top cover.7 Push plastic formatter cover panel toward the back of the printer and remove.8 Swing metal formatter cover out slide up and remove.9 Push plastic side panel toward the back of printer to release plastic clip on the inside while gently pulling the panel away from the top. Remove panel.10 Remove OEM spring from lifter motor assembly and replace with HP 4v toner cartridge spring as shown.11 When reassembling the printer make sure the inside of the
