a problem with my Offline Address Book in Outlook. For me, new colleagues are not showing up and the contact pictures aren't displaying either. They do for my https://www.msoutlook.info/question/738 colleague sitting next to me, so I don’t think it is a server misconfiguration or something like that. Is there any way I can force a manual update of the Offline http://email-converter-tools.blogspot.com/2015/02/how-to-fix-0x8004010f-error-when.html Address Book (OAB) in Outlook or reset it completely otherwise? In general, Outlook will automatically update the Offline Address Book (OAB) for Exchange accounts once every 24 hours. When it address book didn’t or when you want to make sure you do have the latest OAB available, you could manually trigger an update from within Outlook as well. If the update mechanism appears to be broken for you, it could be because of a corruption in your OAB or in your mail profile. In that case, you can completely reset it by deleting offline address book the files making up the OAB or by recreating your mail profile. Update OAB from within Outlook Rather than waiting 24 hours for Outlook to update the Offline Address Book on its own, you can force an update via the Send/Receive menu button. Outlook 2007 and previousTools-> Send/Receive-> Download Address Book… Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016tab: Send/Receive> Send/Receive Groups-> Download Address Book… You can manually update your OAB rather than to wait 24 hours. You can disable the option “Download changes since last Send/Receive” to make sure you get a complete fresh copy of the OAB but this could take longer to download. In Outlook 2010 and previous, it is recommended to leave the option “Full Details” enabled. In Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016, you’ll find that this option is no longer available as full details are also used to build the Contact Card. Delete the OAB files Another way to make sure that you get a fresh copy of the OAB is by renaming the oab-files to .old when Outlook is closed. They are stored in the following loc
an OAB (Offline Address Book) Most of the big organizations are incorporated with the use of Microsoft Exchange Server because of the secure way of getting business emails, high availability, and disaster recovery. But sometimes, Exchange Server may generate some unexpected error. Suppose, if your organization has an offline address list generation server that is running Exchange 2007 or 2010, you may face the following issues: Scenario 1: When you try to synchronize the offline address list in Microsoft office Outlook 2003 or in Outlook 2007 with cache mode enabled, you may receive the following error message in the Sync Issues folder: ‘Microsoft Exchange offline address book Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located. 0X8004010F' Scenario 2: When you try to synchronize the offline address list in MS Office Outlook 2007 or in Outlook 2003 with cache mode disabled. You may receive the following error message: Task reported error (0x8004010F): ‘The operation failed. An object cannot be found.' Reasons of the error occurrence: Some of the most common reason why Outlook client receive such type of error are as follows: This type of error occurs when Outlook client is configured to use proxy settings and Windows Internet Explorer is used. When OAB (Offline Address Book) version 2, OAB version 3, or OAB version 4 system folder is missing from the public folder store. Also, when all Address Lists or All Global Address Lists containers contain sub-containers instead of just address list objects. And when offline address list was deleted and again recreated with the same name. However, there are many approaches through which we can resolve the above mentioned type of error. Few are mentioned below- Method 1: Start Internet Explorer, click Tools and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click LAN settings. Select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box and then click Advanced. Type the FQDN of the Exchange 2007 CAS server, and then click OK. Finally, restart Outlook. Method 2: In Outlook 2010 click File-> Account Settings. Click Change Folder. Click New Outlook Data File (For temporary purpose). Assign it a name (e.g. ‘Test'). Click the + to the left of the folder name to expand the subfolders.
