It then escalated to giving us 161-52 and 161-38 errors. I called Comcast and the guy said that my cable card was defective (I'm using one multistream card) and to take it to the local comcast store and swap it for a new one. I did that and am still getting the same errors. I called Comcast back and this time the guy I talked to told me that those error codes mean that the Tivo is defective and there is nothing wrong with the card. He said to contact Tivo. Comcast is notorious, as far as I'm concerned, about passing the buck and taking the easy way out with things like this, so I don't trust them. It took four calls for me to get the card initialized properly when I first was setting it up. I've searched this forum and also googled, and am not finding anything useful about those codes. In addition, my CP diagnostic screen on both cards is replaced with an error that says "pod:///utils/CPInfo.html" cannot load. So we have a similar issue on three different cable providers (MI, Cox, Comcast) with the same issues in basically the same 2 week timeframe. Called TiVo and they said they were trying to determine a fix. They asked me in the meantime to see if my provider had Motorola cards to swap. Gee, that won't be a major pain the the tail or anything. . . . Hey TiVo tech guy/moderator - would bet a month of service this is a TiVo software issue. How about you guys hook us up with a fix? If the TIVO does not recognize the cable card is plugged in, we may need to exchange the cable card at the local office.
