Is there any other solution to this problem other then hauling my heavy computer to the shop that made it? Reports: · Posted 6 years ago Top LH Posts: 20002 This post has been reported. Take the fan out, connect it up to an external power supply. What happens ? Reports: · Posted 6 years ago Top Richard0600 Posts: 51 This post has been reported. I dont think i'm that comfortable with handling computers, I've never assembled one before... so taking out the fan seems a bit too complicated... and if there are no other solutions to this problem I will probably haul my computer back down to the shop... but as for the moment is there any other method? The red light on the fan still lights up its just the fans not spinning, so i believe there is still power going into the fan if that was what your quest

full functionality. V10 - Problem with FAN when rebooting Started by Lacrymo , Aug 23 2011 08:48 AM Please log in to reply 3 replies to this topic #1 Lacrymo Posted 23 August 2011 - 08:48 AM Lacrymo Newbie http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/cpu-fan-error Members 2 posts Hello all , I have looked through all the pages and haven't found anyone having the same problem. I own the coolermaster V10 which seems to function properly, however there is just one problem. When I restart the computer via Windows, the fans just slow down and do speed up again during the booting, they spin very slowly (I can see the "wings spinning" it must spin at 30 RPM maximum). And this stay like http://community.coolermaster.com/index.php/topic/9813-v10-problem-with-fan-when-rebooting/ this until I decide to turn off the computer and turn it on again. Then it spins at normal speeds. This ONLY happens when I choose "restart" from windows, not when I turn off and on the computer on my own. I am annoyed by this and moreover I am afraid that if windows for example would restart on its own after installing an update, then it would spin very slowly without me noticing it and I would risk to damage my CPU by overheating... If anyone has an idea, please help. On a side note, here are the temps showed in Everest: approx. 34°C in Idle and a max. of 58°C under load. Would you say these temps are normal for a v10? Another small issue: Everest shows very odd CPU fan speeds, thus even when the V10 fan spins normally. Sometimes it shows 50RPM, Sometimes 500, Sometimes it says 10 000 RPM... Anyone knows why this happens? Is Everest known for such issues? Is there any way to fix it ? FAN. You can refer to the steps below to resolve the issue. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1006064 1. Please make sure the CPU FAN is installed on the right position of the motherboard and twist the screws tightly 2. Ensure that the CPU FAN cable is securely installed to the CPU_FAN connector instead of the CHA_FAN. 3. If you install the other brand of CPU FAN with lower cpu fan revolutions speed, the system may not able to detect it correctly. You can try to set "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to 200 RPM in BIOS configuration. * "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" appears only when you set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [DC Mode], [PWM Mode], and [Auto]. For those early cpu fan error versions, you need to set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [Enabled], [Advance Mode] or [Auto]. 4. You can set Monitor->CPU FAN Speed to [Ignore] if you don't want to open the computer case. *You can set CPU FAN Speed to [Ignore] if your computer coming with water cooling system without fan. 5. Update the BIOS to the latest version. http://www.asus.com/support/faq/1008279/ If the issue still occurs, please consult with ASUS Service Center.
