When I plug the h100i fan pin into the cpu header I get a error on boot "no cpu fan detected". If I plug a case fan into the board header the error goes away (not the board). I am looking for confirmation from anyone that is running a similar set up that they are also or are not getting this error. Want to know if it is a common problem at this stage or just a problem with this h100i unit. I just finished my PC build with the corsair h100iGTX when I was given the messege that I had a CPU Fan error (I have plugged in the h100i GTX pump to the CPU_Fan already). Whats stranger is that it seems to be working https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/355488-corsair-h100i-gtx-cpu-fan-error-on-boot/ regardless of my motherboards inability to recognize it (maximus hero VII), the corsair light shows up and my idle temperatures are at 27-28 degrees on the bios. So.. Why doesnt my mobo recognize it if i have plugged it to the correct fan header (CPU_FAN) while at the same time, it appears to be working? WHAT IS THE FAN ERROR!?Thanks for your help!! share
 C0LL0SS0S C0LL0SS0S Member 3,168 posts Fully Advanced Noob Posted April 26, 2015 Maybe the mobo can't control the pump like its used to so it screams I make free banners, if you need some message me :) Wanna see a dirty pig twerking ? https://goo.gl/Kx1CtSCPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770 - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 EvoUpdate Plans: H440, 16GB RAM, SLI, Hard tubing WC share
 lani100 lani100 Member 4,014 posts Location: Somewhere Posted April 26, 2015 Hi! The system I'm using is only a few months old. And I've had this problem RANDOMLY before, it happens about once ever 3 to 4 weeks that when I power up the system I get the fan error. Usually when I shut down the system and wait a while, start it up again everything is back to normal and my CPU snoozes at 25°C. I've done multiple stress tests (PRIME95) and nothing seems to "really" be wrong with the cooling itself. Today however after restarting the system multiple times the problem persists. I tried googling the problem and visiting my vendors product page, the problem is described here. I checked if my H100i connector is connected properly to a motherboard 3/4 pin connector and it is. A dirty fix I tried was setting the CPU fan speed monitoring on ignore. Then the system starts but using RealTemp I do find tempe
